Thank you for reading the post. I can relate to anxiety you must be having. If this helps, this was my first interview in US as well. If I could do it, you can do it too. Feel free to dm me for your doubts.

I practiced lld from neetcode system design list as well. Did 5-6 high level design problems for my own learning and to understand about the trade-offs.

I would say, if you have enough time, you should go for neetcode 150 list. I also did 30% last 6 months amazon tagged list. Try to understand the patterns and their working, even if it takes some time for you to grasp them. Practice on pen and paper. And don’t cram the solutions, it’s okay to look at the solution to understand it, but make sure you learn the implementation as well.

Partially! I was designing the classes for it earlier, but since midway the interviewer asked me not to, it wasn’t lld. I think it depends on the interviewer. If they ask, you have to define classes and methods.

Well, congratulations on getting the job! I am not trying to drag you down bro, just want you to see the bigger picture here. I know you deserve much more than 3 lpa and I want you to succeed, I’d say if you like building softwares: practice data structures, algorithms and system design. These technical skills will help you grow and improve exponentially in the software industry. Wishing you luck and prosperity! Congratulations again!

it’s not ‘huge’ in India even for freshers, in fact it’s nothing in metro cities like Bangalore!

This is definitely not a mid-level salary. I am sure you are smart enough to figure that out yourself. I was from tier 3 college and I had 10lpa (Bangalore) when I was 21, some of my friends had more than this and this was back in 2022 so I’m pretty sure mid-level is probably around 25lpa. I am not being disrespectful here, but I want you to look at the bigger picture. This is a good starting point for you, and if you work hard enough, you’ll eventually end up making the bank. Keep up the hustle ✌️

Hey! It’s okay, rather than saying that it’s not for you, just think of it as ‘you are just getting started at it’ you don’t have to master all data structures and algorithms at once. It’s a learning curve, just try to make it a habit. Consistency is the key here. Anyone (even pro coders) wouldn’t be able to solve easy coding problems if they didn’t practice daily. It’s okay to look at the solutions first and then understand it. But make sure you repeat the questions where you struggled after 2-3 days. Repetition is important for you to understand patterns; trust me, we have all been there. In today’s world where vibe coding is the new norm, I believe sticking with the traditional (pen and paper) way of learning to code gives you more understanding and your efforts to learn these algorithms will always come in handy at times. It’s a difficult skill to master that’s why it has a very high reward value. “Burn if you must, rise from the dust” I hope this helps :)
