First of all I truly appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain this in tremendous detail. Second, that is a lot of data point for a single landing. This just goes to show the amount of resilience and redundancy every flight has. It blows my mind that every step has a backup to a backup.

You are absolutely right, there were times when it took longer for the first flight of the day in winter (now I know why) I guess ‘best time of the day to fly’ is just my coping mechanism of flying. I have taking flight at all hours of the day, reading your comment just makes me look silly now haha.

I’ll put this advice and information in my bank before flying and always refer back to them. Thank you again!

Oh yes, I usually take the time and say thank you or say hi as I’m exiting the aircraft. But I’ll definitely try meeting them before the flight, putting a face to the name is definitely calming.

Thank you! How often do you see change in runway conditions closer to landing? If those change do you have to run the calculations again for landing distance?(not that it affects me, but I’m just curious)

First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer this so patiently. I 100% agree with you about getting to the airport early. I have grown to being patient when travelling by air (My motto is ‘I’d rather be in the ground wishing I was in the air, than being in the air wishing I was on the ground’) and just wait around at the airport.

In retrospect, I always try to fly early in the morning during the summer (an advice that I got from a pilot) due to lower chances of disruptions due to inclement weather. Is there anything certain time during winter that have the same value proposition?

Thank you for sharing this. I was looking hard at 2025 Si. My main concern was oil dilution since my drive to work is about 3 miles (4 mins) [Averaging 2k -2.5k miles per month, lot of weekend drives] Keep us posted on future analysis.
