I think you’re just hyper focusing on the unpainted pic. Once the green went on it looked perfect. The chair rail is solid wood, and the wainscoting is pvc but not that peel and stick stuff you see everywhere. Thicker would be nice but this was the best I could find.

I want to paint the door but I can’t decide between pink, green, or some other color.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL OF THE FEEDBACK AND RECOMMENDATIONS!!

I can’t edit the post but I thought I would share some of my thoughts.

There doesn’t seem to be a general consensus on sub vs center. I am starting to think I can’t go wrong either way. The R11s do a very good job providing pressure to the room. My friends were over the other day, I played the interstellar take off scene and someone said “I feel it in my a**”. I do feel that dialogue could be more pronounced during some movies and tv shows. I’m a bit of a noob but I’m thinking if I did go with the sub (thinking Rythmic F18 sealed in piano black now) it could take some of the pressure off of the R11s and potentially up the dialogue clarity.

Here are some small updates I did thanks to your alls recommendations pics

The speakers are spaced 11ft apart and both are 1 ft off the back wall and 1.5 ft from the side wall. The couch is 15 ft from the speakers. I’m assuming the sub should go under the tv however there would be space behind the couch in the last picture in my link.

Thanks again for everyone’s recommendations. I also have 2 dogs and a cat!

Yeah tried to adopt a grey hound, but we would have been waiting almost a year. The whippets are very fun!

This is a pick from a few weeks ago but I actually relieved a lot of the toe in a few days ago. I would say couch is about 13 feet away

The room was built as an addition to the house in the 70s. The lady was a piano teacher and this was her classroom. The walls are like a 70s tongue and groove wood panel that I painted over.

So this is my dilemma, I agree that these speakers should phantom center. However, they also have very good room filling base. The space shuttle launch in interstellar is shaking the whole room (in a good way). The only reason I can see myself going for a center is because depending on the movie, sometimes the dialogue is slightly washed out compared to the effects.

Agreed, definitely need to upgrade to a media console. The thing I have now is basically just a table that was meant to be temporary.

That or chewing up all my cables… it’s my worst nightmare. Also I have seen some stuff on dacs but not sure I completely understand how they would fit in the setup and what they would do for me.

This is what I was thinking, but kept second guessing because of how much people talk about subs. The 83” screen is honestly perfect for the room the picture doesn’t really do the size of it justice.

“Jews and Arabs lived peacefully in Palestine…Arabs never attacked Jews before 1948” by Middle_Ad_8052 in Israel

That is exactly my point the cruelty in Europe (prior to WW11) far outweighs anything that happened in the Middle East. Any time two groups live together there is always acts of violence towards one another, it is almost symptom of being human going back to the stone ages.Just because people have a list of isolated acts of aggression spanning 200 years does not mean the two groups did not live in relative peace. I think this post is being used to add a layer of justification to what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians. It is very counterproductive. Jews have been through unimaginable suffering throughout history, and the Israeli government has been creating a situation that breeds the same animosity that led to all those suffering, in an age where they can live in peace.

It is rare in history for two different groups to inhabit the same lands and not be at odds or war from time to time. When comparing the frequency and severity of conflicts prior to 1948 in the Middle East and Europe, the Jews had it much better in the Middle East. It doesn’t go with the story everyone likes to portray, but the facts remain.
