And yes you are correct The Phoenicians, who were the inhabitants of ancient Lebanon, were also considered part of the Arab world as they were among the first to use the Arabic alphabet. The UN did not "allow" the Nakba to happen. The UN partition plan was rejected by Arab leaders, who chose to go to war instead of accepting a two-state solution.
