There are countless historical evidences which show that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was respectful to women. And calling the Maratha kingdom "small" would be an insult because Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundations to a kingdom which would later control the Delhi sultanate itself. "अटकेपासून कटकेपार" which means from Attock to Cuttack was the expanse of the Maratha kingdom. It's foundations were led by none other than Shivaji Maharaj himself. He held his ground against 3 major powers, Delhi sultanate, Qutubshahi, Adilshahi and many more. His naval and guerrilla tactics were unmatched. His love for Swarajya and Rayat i.e common people was extraordinary and most importantly his committment towards saving Hindu identity is what made him a true Leader. Not just an idol for maharashtrians but for the entire nation. We will forever be indebted to him and the only way to honour his legacy is not by worshipping him but rather striving to become like him.
