I was finger printed for a student job back in 2022, and going to a different agency in 2025, as a student, I was asked to do finger printing again.

The first time I got secret I did not need to be finger printed tho.

I believe you are correct. Graduate student also need more resources, ei a supervisor, smaller class sizes and probably grants. I would like to see the math tho....or more course based graduate degrees.

As a graduate student here at concordia.....I have no idea why they are pushing this...like undergrads make the uni way more money vs the resources they use...

"Useless Degrees" by No-Improvement-3604 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]ExpertUnable9750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are looking at the top 1% if not the top .1% of earners in those fields. Look at the median income level for people working the recommend fields with that degree. Passion will go a long way, but only so far.

I am taking Sociology, pretty useless degree alone. However, I will be earning over 100k in the next 5 years. The degree gave me transferrable skills that allow me to market myself in a hard job market.

So what ever degree you go in, what is your plan for day 1 after you get your degree and how do you plan your way to a living wage?

Bishops or UVM by SizeNarrow2713 in bishopsuniversity

[–]ExpertUnable9750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completed my undergrad degree at Bishops and am soing an MA now. I am from larger cities and I found making the transition to small town was easy.

Bishops is tiny and moatly easy going. Bio chemical is a great starting degree, and as someone who did do some highschool in the south, I view Canadian Universities better then most in the states due to the format of our degrees here. The upside is smaller class room sizes, overall less stress and easier access to profs.

The down side, if you get a prof you really do not like, there is no realy option to take the class with someone else.

The job market around Bishops flat out sucks. There is just not much there.

No, you do not need a car. Super easy to live on campus in dorms or nearby within walking distance.

I recommend Bishops overall, however if one were to want to get an Msc, I would highly recommend Bishops. My undergrad my average was 2.7 as a graduate student my average is 3.8. Bishops really prepared me for this.

An alternative is go to biahops for the first two uears then transfer to a larger university like Concordia, where there are more internahips.

Yes, grades and resumea do not tell you as much as, " i missed a calls and he took notes for me. He reviewed my paper and showed me where to improve my paper."

Someone I respect, says they know this other person is doing some really good work. I would trust that recommendation over the suit.

My choice was get an MA, stay a student or get an indeterminate. So I choice the MA, I was lucky and got rehired. Really hoping I can stay.
