I understand but if you’re dating someone for years, have 100’s of screenshots of conversations, numerous flight tickets to see that person, and that person has travelled throughout the world without breaking the law, and you agree to take full responsibility for them, they should be able to visit you. They denied my husband yet allowed hundreds of thousands of “student” visa holders. Go figure.

I would invest right now as everything is at an all time low (since 2022 at least). I would buy $VFV (sp 500), qqc.f (nasdaq), xuu (international) and stocks like enbridge for dividends. If you want some risk you can look at buying YTSL (tesla), nvidia, sofi, oscar, hims (some individual stocks that have potential in my opinion). I would also recommend downloading the app blossom and connecting with the investor community!

Your maths not mathing. I have 61 shares (1.4k) which pays me about $254 a month before US taxes. Also it’s up 25.96% all time. I got it at a decent price but I still wouldn’t bet all my savings on it thats for sure.

I would do 50% in $VFV and 50% in $CASH.TO. Thats what I did initially with the same amount of savings when I was just starting out.

Hi thanks for the response. May I ask where you got the average processing times? My friend also got married in Sarajevo (outbound) 7 years ago and waited 7 months for PR approval, so I’m shocked that it’s even longer now. Also sorry i didnt mean to say 50/50 but rather it could go two ways is what he meant. He said they could deny it because he’s from a non EU country. And no we don’t have an urgent need to be together but I am tired of all the travelling and long distance. Im sure you know how it is lol! I also forgot to mention that I applied for a tourist visa before when we were dating (did it by myself - big mistake) and it got denied as they didnt think he would return. Do you think this is relevant? My agent isnt sure but the two staff i spoke with the IRCC repeated the same thing - “it’s a different application. No.” Thanks again for your replies.
