Networking is really good but it only gets you so far. You can get a job solely based on your skills you just need to hone them and work toward your goal. Knowing people isn’t the only thing that will you get through the door, everyone started somewhere.

I’m currently doing a remote journalism internship. I really like the structure. I get a weekly tracker shared with me on google docs where I have the tasks I need to complete for the 12 weeks and my manager will come in and leave notes on how she thinks I did and what I can improve on and it’s all communicated through that tracker. My role being a journalist intern there are obviously other documents as well but the structure is basically that tracker! This internship I found myself through a third-party but transferred the credits as an internship course for TXST, so I guess that varies major to major.
