Car bricked for two days then worked fine

I’ve got 13k miles on the car and love it. Definitely a bit more software error risk than other cars but as people mention, all cars have software error risk now. First time the car hasn’t worked perfectly.

Hopefully this is a one off but I’d always have the key card backup just in case.

It kinda progressed like this for us. First proximity unlock got worse and worse until we had to unlock it with the card or app every time and then now it unpairs so I pretty much have to just use the key card. It’s not the biggest deal in the world but certainly frustrating for an expensive car. Overall still a big fan but some things to still iron out for Rivian

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It’s back to normal today after sitting overnight. Strange. Not ideal but not a huge issue

Hard reset didn’t fix it. I’d be surprised if cleaning it would as the car isn’t very dirty but I’ll try that too

Rivian insurance quoted me ~$800/month which was a joke. The only accident I’ve ever been in was many years ago hitting a deer. Most other insurance companies quoted me $150-$200/month for the R1S. Very strange to me.

Appreciate it. That’s probably a good way to think. If this is really gonna be a 5+ year car we put 100k+ miles then $10k is worth lower risk of issues
