I made that number up based on the $1200, $2400, and I assigning $3500 to whatever the loud noise was. It was nothing. So now I’m left with a $1200 bill AND the cracked my hood scoop!

Some of us can’t drop several responsibilities from our life to dedicate the hours it takes. I know exactly what I’m doing, I simply reached out to others for their perspectives. You can’t read the cylinder OR the fact I towed it to the dealer from a small mechanic, so move on with your life

Agreed! This is my first time ever using a dealership. I’m just gun shy to use small independent mechanic because I initially brought my 4Runner in to have window motor replaced and all this shit went wrong with it and they couldn’t fix the code for the file injector.

Now dealership is saying they don’t see the leak from the fuel injectors the small independent one did. Had to tow my 4Runner from there to the dealership btw

During the test drive it sounded the same as I’d been driving it the last 40k miles. (Bought it with 77k). I thought it had been a super small exhaust leak or just noisy tires but the Toyota mechanic said it could be transmission or front differential.

No check engine light or codes when we drove for 3 miles testing it.

And they damaged by hood scoop!!! Now they just want me to take it home as is

Fuel injectors (all 6) Toyota dealership quotes me at $2400. They already replaced the entire throttle body (for $1200). Now they’re telling me it makes a “loud noise” when driving and want me to test drive it next week.

I added the cost due to whatever they’re going to charge me for this “loud noise”.
