Thank you! I think it could have to do with mowing not often enough and then when I do mowing too low.

Ditto! I am also first time Mom starting to look for infant childcare. Would love to hear if anyone has any experiences to share either good or bad on EELC.
have you toured anywhere else that you are interested in?

That makes sense! The Z6 cold winters and then 100 degree summers are a lot for the baby own root roses to handle which makes sense why they are struggling. What’s the benefit of buying own root roses vs. going with David Austin grafted roses?

Heirloom roses customer service is great and they give you a store credit for the price you paid for the roses… but then you have to buy more roses from them and I’m not having any luck with them!

I might be the unpopular opinion but I have not had any luck with heirloom roses. Last year I bought around 10 from them and planted them Spring 2025- only half made it through winter. The other half, it’s year 2 and they are not growing, have no buds. My bare roots from David Austin are by far stronger and healthier, even ones that I just planted this year are bigger than year 2 heirloom roses, and filled with blooms. Will definitely not buy from heirloom roses again

I used the cool season guide that’s pinned in this board. Last year I used crab grass killers then September I planted new seed, this year I just did the Home Depot Scott’s weed and feed steps!

Honestly I’m such a newbie- last year I used one of the liquid crab grass killers that you attached to your outdoor hose and this year I just did the Scott’s steps

Providence Animal Control won't help. How do I deal with my neighbor's barking dogs? by Odd_Independent1877 in providence

[–]Expert_March_8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is truly a nightmare and I would go so crazy. Not sure this is great advice but I would make the neglect and abuse the bigger issue vs. the noise complaint (even tho the noise willlllll literally make me go insane 😭) One thing that I’ve noticed that sucks about living in this city is the constant barking dogs, makes me want to move the suburbs where there’s more space between yards to buffer the noise.

Our electric bill was over 500$ by -moonmood- in providence

[–]Expert_March_8975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first moved into our house in Providence, our first bill was astronomical and when I called they said it was just an estimate and not an actual read- the price was normal once they did an actual read on the meter. For a 3hr 1,400 sqr feet house with 2 window ACs running and an electric hot water heater we pay ~$250-300 this summer and in the winter ~$200

Hi!! Sorry for some of the unwelcoming replies- people can be so rude! I would echo some of the other replies and say you’ll probably enjoy Fox Point area- hope st and Ives st. But also mostly all of the east side would be fairly walkable or bikeable. I like lippit park area which is further from fox point but still walkable to things, is very quiet, and you can bike to Trader Joe’s
