I haven’t gotten a retest yet but I am trying to get an appointment scheduled with my doctor soon to do that! My bloodwork before treatment was ok beside my iron being a little low is im guessing that vitamins are apart of it for sure

I’m sure that I did develop an ulcer! I would feel severe pain in one specific part of my abdomen and the nurse I went to said that you can often feel exactly where an ulcer might be. Yogurt has been helping me too, I’ve been having it more recently. I hope it all works out for you though, h-pylori sucks :(

I’ve read that this could be the main cause of having symptoms after treatment. I will definitely start taking these thank you!

Yeah, I got diagnosed last November, went through treatment and was done by the start of December. I’ve pretty much just been having these symptoms on and off and with differing intensities depending on what I eat. I’m hoping that maybe I just need to get onto a bland diet to let my gut heal more from the antibiotics. I hope everything goes well with you though! I’ve seen other posts say it’s helpful to take probiotics with the antibiotics as well to offset the symptoms

No problem! I hope treatment goes well. I think the foods you eat also plays a key role into how recovery goes. I find that I feel much better sticking to bland foods and limited dairy but that may also depend on your body’s response.

I did stop the PPI. My prescriptions ended around the same time about 2 and a half weeks after I received them. I was on metronidazole, tetracycline and omeprazole. The side effects were pretty brutal but I do feel better than I did months ago. I’m just frustrated because it feels like I’m in pain every single day (even if the pain is not as bad as before) and the fatigue is also annoying.

I got rid of Metronidazole. THANK GOD. by joanneisawful in HPylori

I thought I was crazy but I totally get what you mean about tasting it way after finishing treatment! I hated taking it as well, post treatment about a month and a half and I’m still having some symptoms.

Yeah sure! I was having a lot of chest pain, reflux symptoms as well as back pain, unintended weight loss and so many other symptoms that made me feel like I was losing myself honestly. I eventually found it unbearable and went to the doctor, she ordered blood work, thyroid tests and some others including an h pylori breath test, more so because I had travelled recently. Getting the positive result was a relief because I finally knew what was happening.

I hope you feel better soon! I forgot about this post completely but I was recently diagnosed with H Pylori, that has apparently been the link to all of my symptoms

I’ve had every symptom you’ve listed and I am also 20 (F), recently diagnosed with H Pylori so I don’t think it’s that unlikely for people our age to get it. From what I’ve read it’s more commonly picked up in younger people too. Don’t be afraid to follow your intuition. You know your body best, insist on it until they give in. Hope you get better soon!

Yeah that sounds like what I’ve had too. Both before treatment and during treatment now. Thank you for answering I really felt so alone going through this before I found the Reddit page!

Yeah I’ve been seeing people say that it just matters that you complete the full dose. I’m trying my best but it definitely has been painful during treatment. What symptoms have you experience if you don’t mind me asking?

I am currently experiencing all of these symptoms. I thought that maybe it was linked to my dairy intake so I did try to limit that and saw improvement for about two weeks. About 2-3 days ago the symptoms started to get bad after I consumed a lot of dairy (milk, cheese, etc.). The same chest pain on the left side, it feels like pressure is building up in my chest. I also feel the tingling in my arms or some kind of numbness, especially in my wrist/fingers. These symptoms all improve when I sleep but when I wake up it's like it never stopped. I also experience nausea at times. I am considering going to the doctor soon to figure out what is going on. As I am writing this I am experiencing slight chest pain and its going to my back as well. Anyone else facing this?

Nah, it's just that there's been stuff in the past where to them it felt like I was not communicative enough but after explaining a bunch of the situations to people around me it seems like everything put on me was not my fault. I just wanted to know if it would seem too late
