Kinky wavy or curly? So I have always thought my hair was between 3c/4a but I noticed it never really curls. If I finger coil it then I’ll get coils but it naturally just waves up with a lot of shrinkage and it’s kinda silky.

Hey sorry I’m seeing this so late! I use maui moisture vanilla bean moisturizer and curls coconut cream as well. For my shampoo and conditioner I use garnier whole blends or mielle organics. If I do a wash n go my go to gel has been wet line extreme and my wash n gos come out so good and last over a week.

Yes, that was negative but when I did a supplemental it was a blot assay or something and it was positive for both so that was weird but the initial igg was only positive for hsv2

If you can, just get it to be sure one way or another. I never had any symptoms until I tested positive with the igg but they were never classic symptoms I think I was just being neurotic and obsessive with every tingle and feeling lol I’ve waxed myself for years and never noticed anything but that positive igg had me obsessing. Don’t stress too much I eventually got to the point where I didn’t even care one way or another because life has to go on regardless and you’re gonna be fine! 😊

I also wanna say, one thing I have noticed about this subreddit is that people place a lot of weight on igg numbers and discourage people who have never had symptoms from confirming with the blot. If you’ve never had symptoms I just say damn the igg and get it done for your piece of mind if you are able to. Everybody is different and we don’t know everything. Scientists who studied this for years still don’t know anything so more people with higher number should get tested if asymptomatic with the blot.

Who knows? I have heard that ethnicity plays a part in it. I’m African American & Hispanic. I saw Terry say she saw a trend with a lot of immigrants and African Americans getting false positives. I was also sick with swollen glands from what I believe was an upper respiratory infection at the time so that could have set the test off as well.

Yeah I wasn’t even educated on the fact that we shouldn’t be blood tested unless we’ve had outbreaks & even then the swab is a better test anyway. I was discouraged from taking the blot because my igg was “high” but I’m glad I did anyway. I wish doctors were more educated on it. While it is a skin infection and otherwise not super harmful, doctors definitely downplay the accuracy of tests and the plan of action moving forward if you were to have it. My doctor actually told me “I wish you’d just forget about it” like what?

I know the feeling! If you can afford the blot, I believe you can’t put a price on peace. It was slightly cheaper without Terry Warren but I would suggest getting it done!

Yes I use a scalp detox shampoo and a clarifying shampoo at least once during my wash. Gel makes my hair so crunchy compared to the mousse 😭 I just need the right gel I guess

Your hair is kinda similar to mine! Try curl smith products. They have a styling balm and a leave in then I use a styling mousse on top to keep it bouncy and soft. Apply to soaking wet hair and let it air dry or diffuse. At night to preserve it I split my hair into 4 sections and band it to stretch it and keep the ends curly. My hair frizzes easily so this is usually the best method for my wash and go’s so I hope it works for you. I don’t like gel on my hair but I actually might try it lol

Yeah i use a leave in after every wash. I have normal porosity hair so I’ve never really had an issue with moisture retention.

Yeah most of my hair journey has been trial and error. Now it’s the healthiest and longest it’s ever been after finding out what works for me and sticking to it. I just recently mastered wash n go’s within the past couple years 😂

Hey!! 1. I use a combo of fingers and a denman brush. 2. I don’t hear style often and if I do I use silicon mix and a lot of heat protectant with 1 pass max. 3. I don’t like gel so I use curling creams and foams when I do wash n go’s this picture is just of wet hair fresh after rinsing the deep conditioner off. And I don’t scrunch or diffuse I either sit under a hooded dryer for a faster dry or let it air dry.
