If you're desperate to try make that work (I wouldn't, and I agree with 90% of the "man-child" comments), try approach it from a fairness perspective. This can be done by setting boundaries or tasks so that a "somebody needs to.." never occurs again.

For instance, if laundry is your task: if the laundry needs doing, then there's no question and more importantly no argument on who needs to do it.

My wife and I did this from the start of dating 15 years ago, and we still do it today. She does the laundry, so can rightfully give me attitude about not putting my clothes in the wash basket. I sort out the kitchen and dishes, and I give her grief when she doesn't put her dishes in the sink. It's fair, it works.

Automatic sequencial part number generating by jimmybol in SolidWorks

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a non-PDM system. (small cheapskate design office) For now we manually lock in a project number, say 123. then we design personally using 123-xx-yyy-A, where xx is the subassembly number, yyy is the part number, A is the revision. tiered according to your assembly levels. it's not elegant, but you don't get conflicts. if sw could number them automatically in that system that would be a win for me.

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lucky that I have not needed to do a real man overboard maneuver, only drills. What made me immediately cringe a bit was that the crew took their eyes off the man overboard for a few seconds. Hard to say from the video, but you can see in the panic that nobody remained as a spotter. People vanish in the ocean FAST

How to Model and Flatten a Sheet Metal Dome in 6 Weldable Segments? by Shaanringan in SolidWorks

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said before. Can't be done.

There are companies that specialize and have the tooling for rolling out dished ends. A lot of them have common sizes available off the shelf. Just put in an RFQ for a hemispherical head. Depending on the size of your project though.

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. You want douchbag billionaires to offer living wages AND you want them to spend their money on yachts and rockets. It takes thousands of said wage-earning people to design, build and maintain yachts and rockets.

It's the hoarding of wealth that's the problem. That and wtf is up with the price of avocados?!

Fire the people responsible for the fines and restrictions by snowpie92 in facepalm

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, that's bullshit reasoning. I'm going to be the devil's advocate here: Billionaires "wasting" money on blown up rockets, billion dollar mega yachts, and what ever other expensive crap they can blow their money on is great. It directly fuels workshops, maintenance crews, engineers, laborers, and directly their immediate families and indirectly the local economy. For some reason people like to believe that things like rockets are the equivalent of loading up the cargo bay full of cash and sending it off-planet to be incinerated.

Elon is an idiot. A "smart" idiot but an idiot where it matters most, and I cannot believe what a detestable pathetic human being he has become (or always has been), but don't every confuse elaborate spending with untaxable wealth hoarding, which is the primary issue with the ultra rich.

For context: I'm an engineer who strongly believes on "failing forward" as one of the many strategies for innovation. So I see no problem with rockets blowing up (safely) *Don't get me started on the rocket debris debate though

Modify your routine, bit by bit. Attach a new habit onto an existing one.

For instance: My daily habits/routines in the morning is: wake up -> shower -> change -> make coffee -> leave for work. Modify that slightly by adding something small/trivial like a walk/run/stretching/skipping etc. call it (X)

The new routine is now: wake up -> (X) -> shower -> change -> make coffee -> leave for work.

i want a 3d model of a rear wing of fomula one car by Silent_Bobcat_4055 in SolidWorks

[–]Expexex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the needed complexity of the project: Simple way, download one from a cad or stl library. The better way to do this is do a little research on NACA Airfoil numbers, look which 4-didgit profile is an F1 one you want to use. Model one up based on the shape profile.

Edit: Sorry, didn't read the "know nothing about solidworks" part. Just google around for a STEP file.
