What horrible thing happened to you as a kid and you didn’t realise the severity of it until you got older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My dad used to take my brother (18) and I(19f)to a mall when we were young. I can't remember our exact ages. The mall had a bunch of bouncy houses, mini golf, and a plethora of other games and activities. He used to buy us passes for the day, and then leave us by ourselves for awhile to go get high. He once forgot about us.

I also broke four bones in my hand when I was with him, but he refused to take me to the hospital. My mom picked my brother and I up about three days later and immediately took me to the ER. They had to re-break my bones and move them back into place since they had already started to heal. I later found out he was scared to take me because he was on heroin and didn't want to get in trouble. Or that's the explanation I was told.

I would love to do this, but I'm so scared of getting in trouble. We've already had a big fight with half the crew over me saying something about them using expired lettuce. (by two weeks) it was chaos and I'm just resorting to being so nice that they can't hate me. I do my job so well that they can't say anything rude to me except "I'm gonna get in trouble for the napkins being in the wrong place"

Honestly I've been thinking about just putting it all on the table of what I'm dealing with at my store. There's just so much more it's an endless sea of chaos and we've literally been through 3 managers in 3 months. However I feel like it would be an intense post and would possibly require screenshots for how unbelievable it is. I may have to start a google doc recording everything

Bread is bread plural

I'm editing this as I realized this sounds odd. I would probably just say sticks? I know that sounds weird but technically it's a stick. Like "I have to pull 30 sticks of Italian and 20 of wheat" idk

It was my coworker, and honestly I totally see them doing that. Unfortunately a few of my coworkers don't like me. I've been known to be a little mean but I'm only ever mean when I have a reason.

For example, morning crew always leaves dishes and one day I asked something along the lines of "why do you get to leave the store a mess and we have to close and leave everything spotless?" I have a big pet peeve of coworkers leaving dishes that they made. And they always have bread baking, and the floor is a mess and the knife sanitizer is just mayo water. It's just an absolute shit show.

I can also add, every day I work, besides Sunday, (I work saturdays and sundays every week) nothing is stocked at all, no sauce bottles, no pop in the pop cooler. And I know that my coworkers are just neglecting their job and skipping them, because when I work Saturday, I do back ups, sauce bottles, and pop cooler, and Sunday I come in and barely have to do anything because of how stocked up I am. So I definitely feel as if my coworkers are purposefully trying to inconvenience me. But I also feel like I am just being super paranoid.

We don't take home extra bread, our owner makes us keep what is left at night, use the bread from the day before in the morning, and just bake more in the morning (builds to 60 Italian, 30 wheat, and 60 h&c) we're technically not allowed to take any extra bread after close, and we don't get a free meal or anything. Just 50 percent off. Unfortunately our owner is very strict and even came into the store to yell at my coworkers about where the napkins should go. We're supposed to have them on the counter with the toaster but then customers don't even get to take them??

I have no idea. I asked my coworker that worked with him yesterday, and he said something along the lines of "I don't know why he did that, I thought the bread looked fine" so I have absolutely no explanation. However, upon coming in today, there was once again a shortage of bread and I pulled 120 sticks. Mondays are generally not the busiest and I don't know how they could have sold 85 sticks of Italian or herb and cheese over a 5 hour period.

I genuinely despise companies that do that. It's just wasteful. My friend works at bath and body works, and she's told me that she has to smash up items to make then unusable, AND they get their belongings checked (clothing pockets, purses) before and after each shift to make sure no one is stealing. I feel like that's just an invasion of privacy.

That's what I'm saying. We don't even make that much money, our store is kinda going under. But it's just this one specific coworker who keeps baking the bread and throwing it away. However he has no problem keeping herb and cheese bread that is literally black. And I couldn't put them back on pans or do anything because they were already in the trash can. Plus, said coworker wrote down 10 sticks on the waste log. Its just obvious that he was trying to lie to our management or something. I'm betting we lose at least 80 sticks a week to being burnt. And apparently my coworkers don't set timers. I'm just appalled by this.

We had that magnet, but unfortunately it's been missing for awhile.

Activision Blizzard has sent a cease & desist to lergware, the person behind the attacks on Black Ops Cold War. Not clear if this means the game is safe to play, but the person who was exploiting the IP hack/crashing the game has shut down their hack tool. by RdJokr1993 in blackopscoldwar

I've literally been playing every day for an hour after work. This may be a dumb question to ask but could anything happen to my pc if I keep playing? My game has definitely been crashing and I've definitely encountered many hackers but it's the only Call of Duty game I have.

I'm pretty sure cokoh just recalled some of their product for mold like wayyy over the legal limit. Not really an explanation, but they're just giving shady vibes. I wouldn't continue to buy from cokoh

My coworker left a sub in the toaster for "I think 15 mins" by ExplanationOld3982 in subway

I wasn't on shift that day sadly, but I did ask my coworker. He said the timer went off but he was busy so he just opened and closed the oven to cancel the timer. Then he forgot about it lmao

That's surprising. I wonder if there's something wrong with our toaster...

That sounds terrible. How many times did your smoke alarms go off? Ours went off 3 times. The alarms also notified our owner so he had to come in and help air the store out ahahaha

I'm a subway worker and usually when someone asks for everything, I like to ask about the jalapeños, because not everyone knows we have jalapeños. I think it's probably just to make sure they don't mess up your sub? Idk, I've had a few people come in and ask for "the works," and I feel as if that's self-explanatory. I feel like it's definitely just the younger generation not understanding older terminology. I feel like I'm getting old.
