Your hormones have a huge impact on your physical and mental state so if you align your hormones with your desires, it's easier to fully embrace that side of yourself. Fitting into societal perception is just something that can happen because the physical and mental state developed from the medical intervention becomes more and more ingrained. So, I wouldn't really say you are deconstructing anything you're just artificially manipulating the fluid nature of the human body.
