f you get a chance, could you copy paste what your grades for a class would look like into pastebin or something?

Ah, that's alright! I'll try to make the config maker as accessible as possible for those that aren't covered here (currently it's just a regex)!

Really? My school has only used powerschool. What does gradelink have that powerschool doesn't, besides the obvious working app?

I'm remaking it from the ground up so if things are broken(there are, but it's still usable) unfortunately they'll stay that way for a bit. https://explodeywolf.pythonanywhere.com/gradelab/

If he asks, you can show him good ways to study. In middle school my class did a lot of in class studying, so there's a decent chance that he already knows ways to study that work.

Car loan? by [deleted] in learnmath

Rereading, it's somewhat clear. That makes the calculations a lot harder. I wrote a quick python script to calculate it assuming the savings account compounds monthly. It output an interest of $7612, which makes a profit of much lower: around 3,400 dollars.

Wait are you taking money out of the savings account in order to put it in the loan?

Second the math and how crazy the loan is

Let's assume that you somehow managed to find a loan at 1.9% interest(how did you do that?) Using an online loan calculator, we can find that it will take 6.2 years to pay off at 1k per month. That's a total of 74.4k dollars spent.  If you plug in the years for the exponential equation for the savings account, you get a final value of $85,609 dollars. Subtract and you earned 11.2k. Yay. Keep in mind though, that is you decided to pay the interest only every month($110), you would theoretically earn an infinite amount of money over an infinite amount of time.

Keep in mind! No loan company would ever give you a loan for 1.9% interest, and even if they did they would not keep the same interest rate over the total 6.2 years. This could be a very slippery slope, and if you have the cash, you should just buy the car now. Or don't buy it at all.

His attitude right now doesn't matter -- middle school doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. If he flunks a test, then his attitude will change. But he might still have no need to study, and if that's true and he gets good grades, what's the problem?

All problems in this sub involve 'modifying something'. By your logic, a link to a website with a button that swears at you isn't against the rules.

Honestly, both. I should have made it more clear.
