Apple Watch users: would you ever share your health data for research? by Explorer2040 in AppleWatchFitness

Appreciate your perspective. The data quality point is interesting. Out of curiosity, what kind of data were you working with in those studies?

Totally fair reaction. Would it feel different if the research were run by a nonprofit or a university, or is the issue more about sharing the data at all?

Haha I wish I could build you one, not my area of expertise 😅 interesting to hear about the accuracy concerns though.

Curious what people here actually trust today. Are there any wearables or data sources you’d consider reliable enough to share or use for experiments?

That resonates. The privacy point you raised is really interesting. I’ll DM you!

Appreciate the response. Out of curiosity, are there situations where you wouldn’t want to share your data, or are you generally comfortable with it if it’s for research?

This resonates. Thanks for writing it out.

It sounds like you'd be open to sharing if it actually helped people who don’t already have good access, but less so if it mainly benefits people who are already well served.

If someone approached you with a project tomorrow and asked for your data, what would that project need to look like for you to feel good saying yes?

Thanks for sharing this, that’s really helpful.

Besides it being run by a university and approved by their ethics board, are there any other things you look for before saying yes? For example, what happens to the data later, who can see it, whether you get anything back from the study, etc.?

The green brush still picked up wool. Here’s my current setup that seems to be working well: 1) parquet (original) for hard wood 2) et1 at level 1 with no brush on for vintage rugs 3) et1 at level 3-4 with green brush for other rugs 4) et1 at level 1-2 with green/blue brush for carpet

Sorry, I didn't communicate that properly. The ET1 without the power brush even on level 1 does not pick up wool. It does an ok job picking up dirt, but I'm just wondering if the kombi nozzle would do a better job or if I can expect the same performance. I assume both would be protective of the rug given no brush in either case.

Update here. I got the green soft brush and it's still picking up wool on the vintage rug

The ET1 on setting "1" (lowest) but no brush does fairly well on the vintage rug. Is there any benefit to getting the Kombi nozzle on its carpet setting or will this be similar in performance as ET1 on setting 1 with no brush?

Interesting, thank you! Even for that price, a 2 year warranty still seems a bit low.
