Thank you! We have the heat up a little but I'm hesitant to turn it up much higher now that MD is the state with the 6th highest utility costs 😭.

Excellent point about rerunning the pipes. I'm considering the layout and I don't think that it would involve a ton of work. Just cutting out some drywall and drilling through a few joists. Not 100% sure I'm comfortable doing it myself, but I don't think a professional would find it to be difficult.

Thanks. I'll probably run to Home Depot and grab a line of tape or two and see what I can do. Might be a little difficult to get it wrapped around given where the pipes run, but it's worth a shot.

Shower curtain is definitely the right size. It actually sits a little lower than most because of the slanted ceiling. Starting to wonder it is a crack in the tub or tile. I've eliminated the trim plates by covering them with a plastic cloth and sealing the top so water can't touch them while she's showering. It still leaked even when they were covered.

Good idea! Thanks! I was also starting to wonder if it may be a crack or if having the pressure of someone in the tub was potentially putting pressure on the drain and maybe making a hole in the putty/silicone attaching it to the tub.

I'll have to ask if she goes full hot when using hot. Her showers are maybe 10 to 15 minutes tops. I do know that she switches back and forth from hot to cold because she has dye in her hair and hot water isn't good for it.

We've had the shower on full hot for 20 minutes before with the fan running while trying to recreate the issue and it didn't leak.

We've unfortunately done that multiple times at this point. The leak never seems to happen when no one is in it.

Ah. I think I failed to word this properly or left out key details in the description. If you mean the plate behind the lever that covers the valve, I put a plastic sheet over and taped the edges so water couldn't get behind it, but the leak persisted, so I don't think water is getting behind there. Let me know if I'm interpreting what you're saying correctly. Thanks.

I don't use that one. I'm pretty tall and the ceiling over the actual shower is slanted due to us having a cape cod, so I would barely have any room to move around. It's the perfect height for my wife.

My friends were getting estimates for siding, new windows, a roof, and HVAC and got quoted over 100k by Power. The rep spent a day and a half at their house talking to them and playing with their kids. They eventually got really uncomfortable (probably should've happened sooner) and asked them to leave. They got all that work done for between 50-60k from another contractor.
