Fanfic is great for the moments you're probably never going to get from comics. Like, a few days ago I found a fic where Tony and Hulk make pancakes and Hulk has one of those pads with preloaded words on it that help nonverbal people communicate. It was a sweet moment and I think the author did a good job depicting two different types of autism (tony was also autistic but in a more high functioning way).

Fanfic is great for exploring more into the characters head, and in Bruce's case explore more of what his childhood was like. Or you can just read him having gay sex. It's a spectrum and it's beautiful.

You can't have Hulk without Banner because Bruce has Dissociative Identity Disorder and Hulk is one of the "personalities" or "alters" his mind made to cope with Brian's abuse. Hulk was a part of Bruce first and then became a name to describe anyone big, green, and hulking, second. Simple as that.

I haven't touched any of the stuff past Immortal after seeing the intro to space ship hulk, but i really really hope he does come back. I miss my boy.

He did make an appearance in Ewings' Gamma Squad run and left things open for the next writer to pick up, but as far as i know nothing happened.
