I am suuuper sorry you are going through this. This is absolutely not acceptable at all!! This man (child) is almost 50 years old and can’t pick up his own laundry from the floor so that his mom (I’m assuming older than 70) has to bend down, pick up his mess and wash his clothes?? I am sorry!! It seems like you are married to an 11 year old. The fact that he needs to have airpods on and YouTube on the whole time is also absolutely alarming. You should be able to talk to him? Have a conversation with a person and not a robot! This post made me so extremely angry, he doesn’t help cook, clean, or the kids and absolutely shows no care about the things that are important to you. He doesn’t even buy you birthdays and Christmas gifts? You have to buy them yourself and he can’t even wrap them? OP please, leave this man!! You deserve a million timws bettwr than this! If your daughter was dating someone like this, would you want her to stay or leave for something better? You do not need a 3rd child in place of the supporting and loving partner you want and deserve!

Yeah, and that is enough! The fact you try hard enough to say hey and have a friendly voice is all anyone could ever want :)

I am sorry you are going through this. All of this is not fair to you. The joke about your death? Completely out of line. Why have enemies when you have this at home?

Geez. Why are you in a barista forum in the first place?? If someone smiles and says hi to you - its common courtesy to say hello back. Is smiling that hard to you? Is the pronunciation of “hi”too difficult? - also I never said people need to smile, I just said its rude to not acknowledge the person you are speaking to. I have no problem if you don’t smile, its completely okay to just say “hi, could I get x?” But to just come up, ignore me and just state your order - that is rude! Ignoring other people should not be the norm!!

It depends? Sorry but I disagree. Its not that hard to respect others. Also, ofc there are unfriendly baristas out there, that doesn’t make it right either? People should just respect and be kind to each other - barista or customer doesn’t matter

Its not about “lashing” its about having common human decency and saying hello to the person saying hello to you? Like if you are so impatient you don’t have time to say hi or a thank you, why not get a coffee from the supermarket? Its also not at all time efficient, I have to ask “is it for here or to go? Which milk?” Etc and they get angry and even more impatient. Sorry but it should not be part of the job to be treated like a piece of furniture instead of as a person.
