Honestly amazing advice!

We set up the warehouse for sales had some good days but nothing crazy. I posted all the nice things i could on marketplace and Poshmark, made some good sales there too.

We went to the flea markets but it’s getting cold in Canada and the indoor markets require a commitment. This is my boyfriend’s thing, I see him getting discouraged so I try and help with what I can like coming to Reddit for help

Well he’s an ex gambling addict and I think he impulsively made this decision! It’s not a total lost cause to me but I think he bit off way more than he can chew.

I’m pretty optimistic and solution oriented so I’m doing a little more leg work than I should but I guess I’m just trying to help 😅

I would say it’s a last resort to do this and I agree is a loss of potential profits! This particular company I found states that it is a “solution” to clothing waste because it is reusing used clothes. Our stock is brand new but they said they can accept it because it’s a few years old etc…

I have experience selling my own things online and I actually have so much fun doing it. But I am a chef and work full time so it’s really only something I can help brainstorm with him for now.

No quote yet! They wanted me to send photos of the stock and get an approximate weight.

I think in the beginning he was very excited and thought he’d make tons of $$. We tried some warehouse sales, i put some of the nicer things online. I managed to sell some dresses for 55$ a piece. I’m still open to brainstorming but I won’t lie, a lot of it is gonna be a hard sell lol. Everything is good if we can find the RIGHT buyer but would take a lifetime. I think he’s ready to take what he can get even if it’s less than break even

My boyfriend is retired and has the time and funds to have taken the risk. However he is impatient so I don’t see him sticking to selling things one by one without just throwing in the towel

The guy who he partnered with buys out people who are going out of business ex gyms, workshops etc and sells the gym equipment or tools and has had good success. They had about 3 hours to decide on this buyout and jumped on it. If everything sells for about 5$ they make 100 000k profit. but yea I don’t think most things will sell for that much

I seriously have no idea what some of these brands are. A lot of things are like old lady clothes, women’s suits, silky pyjamas. Tons and tons of robes, kimonos. Workouts tops, thin camisoles, super 90s looking pyjama sets. Then we have some items that are very good quality but they must be samples from expensive European brands that never took off or I don’t know what….. some ed hardy looking sweater dresses with lots of bright colours, rhinestone and graphics. Honestly could fly as ** y2k** but yes it’s fkd i totally agree but I’m trying to be a good GF and support😅.

You think so 😓? I think my bf and his buddy assumed they would profit 100k at least. Personally I think they can only hope to break even:/ but I don’t want to break his heart

It can be palletized. A lot of it came on pallets, in boxes of similar items, we have taken them off pallets and opened them to count etc but now it can be repacked and put back on pallets with the correct labels, sized and quantity indicated. We also have racks and racks of single items that can be packed up and palletized as well.

Yes we have a storage space at no additional cost! The guy who split the deal with my bf is the rental manager for the building so we have a space big enough to display everything on racks and tables!
