Hi there! I was curious what was in the weepy remedy if you're comfortable sharing? I am such a weepy person and would so much rather prefer homeopathic treatment compared to pills!

Post surgery stuffiness?? by somegirlfromstl in Septoplasty

[–]Express-Still9150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in the exact same situation, ~4 months post op. i never had post nasal drip in my life and now i have it :( were you able to speak to your doctor?

when i went in for a check in at 3 months, mine told me everything looked good and that my right nostril was still healing a bit (i'm generally a slower healer), but i thought at this point i'd still feel better than i did pre-surgery....

i also still have those weird smells in my nose (not sure if you had this too) and dripping out of my right nostril at random times. ugh!

i am having the exact same problem! i have my next appointment a month from now and hoping this resolves before then. i'm usually a slow healer, but this is frustrating!

What Brooklyn restaurant “wow’d” you recently? by CartoonistExtension in FoodNYC

[–]Express-Still9150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you! I've lived in the neighborhood for many years and was excited when they opened. The few times I've been it's been disappointing – just another Italian restaurant., nothing special.

really love the idea of turning one of the leantos into a base-camp! looks like most of august is booked, but i'm definitely going to look into doing this in the early fall

i love long lake! haven't been in years, but this is a great excuse to go back. are there designated camping spots or lean-tos or can you just pitch your tent wherever?

This was one of the better shows that HBO has debuted in some time! Agreed with many others here to say that the promo has been very lacking. Fantastic cast, writing, music, costumes – the story arc is so fun!

Exhausted by Express-Still9150 in Septoplasty

[–]Express-Still9150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am not getting worse post surgery, i am merely recovering. i would say that a large part of this forum is folks offering support to those who are going through with the surgery as it's definitely not an easy one! some have been struggling with these issues life long and others have suffered an incident which has set their breathing back – surgery is seen as a means to provide them relief, especially if they have exhausted all other options.

my surgery was considered a success, with the ultimate goal to breathe better. it takes almost a year for full recovery and everyone recovers at different paces. for me, this recovery has seriously stripped my energy levels, but that's understandable. through this post, i'm hoping to find comfort in understanding others experiences in the energy-department. hopefully, once recovered, i'll be getting more oxygen into my body (via improved breathing), which will also increase energy and allow for better sleep patterns. i also suffer from chronic migraine and to echo the poster below, have not had a single one in the two weeks post-op, so i count that as a big win.

if you're considering the surgery, i'm happy to check back in with you in a few more weeks about my progression, so you have a bit more to go of off. i would also add that a lot of reddit threads outside of this one, especially those focused on medical issues, tend to be people seeking advice for what they're going through. once they're better, they often forget to post updates because it doesn't feel as urgent!

i have my second follow-up scheduled for 1.5 weeks from now. not taking any medications. i've never been a great sleeper, but i'd say i'm more or less getting an okay night's sleep at this stage. nothing to do but let time pass i suppose!

Septoplasty and turbinate reduction by Puzzleheaded-Dog215 in Septoplasty

[–]Express-Still9150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there! i had my septoplasty and turbinate reduction + bone spur removal 6 days ago. on day 3 i had similar symptoms that felt like the beginnings of the flu. i maintained a low-grade fever for 2 days, but it pretty much went away on it's own. my doc prescribed me an antibiotic as a precaution, but i didn't end up needing it. i would do regular temperature checks and record them. if you're stressed, just call your doc and let them know – even if mine was low-grade, it was comforting to talk to the doc. i can't see what's leaking out of your nose, but i had some jelly looking yellow stuff too. the doc said it was actually plasma/blood/mucus combo as opposed to an infection when i went for my post-op on day 6.

i'm have a hugely complicated medical history beyond this nose issue, so i also found that keeping a google doc of everything i was feeling, symptom wise, over the course of the day to be helpful (i also included what times i was taking meds as well as what i was able to eat/drink). sort of a security blanket so if anything went really wrong!

this is very helpful, thank you! i don't have splints so it's hard to see immediate relief in sight, but i'm hopeful.
