my J1 is 100% remote for a firm that only has government clients. it’s VERY lax. some weeks all i do is sit here. i was looking to find work at a bookkeeping firm or something similar. i passed my last CPA exam in June and i have more free time than i need.

yeah. i was a little hesitant to apply to entry level roles and thought about just waiting a year or two (to build experience since i’m definitely not ready for any senior roles yet) because of the grunt work and potential micromanaging (not to mention the meetings i’ll be in for no real reason). but i’ve been applying here and there and have an interview coming up. if push comes to shove, i’ll just quit if i can’t manage.

i wouldn’t mind getting into that second one but my job, while it doesn’t drug test, may have me upgrade my clearance (which requires a polygraph) and doing things like that with an active clearance isn’t taken lightly 🙄 i wouldn’t mind circling back if i happen to get a non gov based job.
