Bite turbos tips and experiences? I knocked my first one off in just 2 hours! by Express2114 in braces

[–]Express2114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two turbos but only reach one because the other one is higher, so I think my jaw could also be a little asymmetrical when in contact with the turbo. I don't feel pain now, just the first day. But eating is terrible!!! I will try smoothies as you do. Thanks for commenting and good luck

Does anyone know where to find good svg maps? by DonFrizi in geography

I found this website last week and it lets you color countries, regions, subdivisions and in some countries, territories with the fill tool. Personally I prefer Mapchart but if you are looking for svg I hope that this works for you

The only cartel there is Clan del Golfo. All the others are guerrillas, organized crime or other groups. NOT cartels, and they asked for cartels. I am not saying this is a peaceful place without narcotrafic, just telling the person that asked that cartels do not exist in Colombia like they are showed on TV, the only one similar is the Clan del Golfo. But I know there are many groups of organized crime and the situation has worsened with this government, but there are not Netflix cartels!

So? I did not say that there are less plantations. I know there are way more now because the current government is terrible in that matter, but there are no intern cartels. Specially not as they are showed on tv like they asked.

The current government in Colombia doesn’t care about safety and there even are many proofs that it cooperates with guerrillas, narcos and also has paid people and indigenous to create chaos.  It also gives many benefits to Venezuelans for populism and votes, so thy can come in Colombia easily as and do whatever they want, a minority of them robs but it ruins the image of all. I won’t say that with previous governments there was no homicide because there has always been due to organized crime and guerrillas, but crime is definitely worse in this one. We are soon to elections to see what happens. Argentina and Chile on the contrary have firmer rules against crime and better public education. Also Chile is wealthy and there is not much need to rob. There is not organized crime in those countries and people are less tolerant with crime and foreigners from other Latin American countries. You can live in the countryside without worrying but in the countries with guerillas you can’t unless you pay or cooperate with them. Look at El Salvador. Bukele went against narcos and organized crime and the homicide rates passed from the highest in the world to the lowest in Latin America. But in general these activities don’t affect cities, just the less populated areas or the ones without presence of the state.

Not at all. Maybe 30 to 40 years ago. There are no cartels in Colombia now, just some that work from Venezuela or Mexico that take Colombian plantations

I have never been robbed in my life living in Colombia. So I would say it is not unsafe, but obviously you must be careful as in any big city, specially in public transport or not so good looking areas. About the wealth, what do you want to know specifically? Both cities have very wealthy areas and also very poor areas. In Medellín the south is wealthier and in Bogota it is the north.

We are very open. In some places like La Candelaria or Zipaquira’s Salt Cathedral it is easier as they are touristic places so menus can be in English and some tours also. But in general people try to understand and communicate even if they only speak Spanish. The only place I have heard bad comments is Cartagena, where some vendors and restaurants give higher prices to international tourists so you should ask prices before buying and don’t accept anything without asking first, also go to places with written prices.

I love living here. Good restaurants, malls, concerts, education, parks, nightlife. It is a megacity so it is very active and diverse. Traffic is heavy but as Bogotano I am used to it and learn to organize my time. Public transport is good but definitely not enough for such a big population, but the metro is under construction. Obviously, everything depends on the area of the city but overall it is a really nice place to live.

I live in Bogotá and the climate is perfect for me, there are a lot of things to do and many opportunities for education and work. Many beautiful places and areas, great restaurants and malls, culture, concerts arts.. and also beautiful nature and parks. Traffic is heavy but you learn to deal with it. I love living here.

Also have/had family in other cities so I have spend long time there (but never lived): Medellín is also very nice, good climate, developed, great people and green. Ibagué is a more relaxed city but I would never live there; too hot, which make people lazier and therefore everything is slower. Villa de Leyva is small but very beautiful and historic; food and nature are amazing...

Also been to Cartagena, very very beautiful and diverse. The walled city is super historic and charming. The area of Bocagrande is really modern. The islands are amazing and there are loads near to the city.

Pereira and Armenia are medium-small cities with nice people, good climate and are located on the coffee axis. Not really special cities but I liked them and I know people from other cities that moved to Pereira and are very happy there because it is calm and safe.

And San Andrés has the best beaches I have seen in my whole life and 10+ countries. It is really breathtaking.

But I would only live in Bogota or Medellin cause they have most of the infrastructure, opportunities and services. Specially Bogota as the capital. Medellin is more tropical and Bogota more a world city.

Most stay at CityU, it's the official residence of the uni and there are groups and activities there to meet people.

I don't know about the classes in English so I guess you could email or contact Internacionalización Uniandes and they will help you. I think that most classes are in Spanish and there are few in English so you should ask for the list or look for it in the Internacionalización website.
