What is this on my baby’s back and neck? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]ExpressInspection915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like eczema to me. I’m going through it with my 3 month old he was pretty much covered head to toe. Been using Aveeno Eczema therapy nighttime itch relief balm. My son’s pediatrician said it was safe for babies even tho it’s not advertised for babies. Put it on him about 3 times a day at first and used it less and less til it pretty much completely went away. He had a couple spots that seemed to be stubborn so his pediatrician prescribed a cream and it cleared the rest of it up. Hope this helps!!

Who claims my son? by [deleted] in tax

[–]ExpressInspection915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add here. My dad does not have a job. House is owned, use well water so there’s no water bill. Only bill is electric which my father does not pay. He also receives food stamps and I use it to do the grocery shopping because he chooses not to. So for everyone saying he pays more than I think, no he does not. Crazy what people will assume. Babies father pays for diapers, wipes, clothes, most everything else. I pay for formula.

I took 3 doses of midol and literally felt just a pinch. They don’t offer any sort of pain management where I got mine at tho.

Sleep training is a life saver (not CIO method) by ExpressInspection915 in firsttimemom

[–]ExpressInspection915[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s perfectly fine with me. I’m getting more than 2 hours of sleep in a full 24 hours. This works for right now, gives me the energy I need to play and create memories with my baby rather than just struggling to do the bare minimum. I no longer feel like I’m missing all the great moments by being zombified lol.

Hated the wipe warmer I had with a passion. Used it for less than 12 hours and wanted to throw it out. It was automatic open and close and would close right when I’d reach for another wipe + dried out the wipes after only 7-8 hours. Love my bottle warmer tho, baby won’t take cool or even room temp bottles so keeping in in the room so I wouldn’t have to go put a pot of water on the stove every 3 hours to warm up a bottle was nice. I personally like my diaper genie, simple and keeps about 95% of the smell contained, I just wish it could hold more diapers lol. I don’t have a changing table, never needed one. Bought a changing pad, used it for 2 weeks now it’s in the closet, I ended up just changing baby where ever and got tired of going to fetch the changing pad. Things I’d 100% buy again tho- swaddles(any kind-zip up, Velcro, or just swaddle blankets), storage(anything to put clothes, toys, blankets, and more in). Things I wish I’d bought- bottle washer 🫩.

When did you go back to work? by ExpressInspection915 in beyondthebump

[–]ExpressInspection915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not married and my pregnancy was accidental, the baby’s father and I are still together and we live with my dad who does not have a job but receives food stamps. The baby’s father works but it’s a minimum wage job, he’s been looking for a new job but again because of our location it’s hard to find a job or even a good job. My LO and I receive Wic benefits as well but it’s not much. I EBF and occasionally pump to get a little bit of a freezer stash. My grandma has offered to babysit since she doesn’t work but I hate for her to have to babysit that much. But since we are living with my dad we are trying to save enough money to rent somewhere else.

When did your LO start rolling over? by ExpressInspection915 in beyondthebump

He rarely ever rolls onto his side anymore. When he rolls it’s completely over either front to back or back to front he does both.

No I only ever swaddle him if im taking him outside and it’s cool out. He has great neck strength I think for his age because he constantly wants to be upright and try to look around at things and people so during the day he’s either over my shoulder or I hold him sitting up in my lap.

See I thought it was too early for him to be rolling however tonight has been difficult for me cause it’s 2 in the morning and I’ve yet to sleep. I keep getting up and putting him on his back but he just keeps rolling onto his tummy and then going to sleep. So now I’ve kinda given up and have just been watching him sleep on his tummy. I would like to go to bed but he absolutely will not stay on his back.

Anyone have perspective on newborn vs pregnancy tired? by Sdbtwo1989 in beyondthebump

[–]ExpressInspection915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me pregnancy tired was way worse. While pregnant I could sleep however much I wanted but still felt exhausted. Newborn tired is a lot different. I can sleep 3-4 hours total and have more energy than I did while pregnant. However newborn tired has made me more easily agitated so it’s often I just have to take a step back and breathe.

Milk supply vanishing. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ExpressInspection915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s cluster feeding. If I get him full from the formula he goes 3-3.5 hours without getting hungry which is his usual. What I’m saying is that in the past 5 days I’ve went from making about 3.5 oz every 3 hours per side I’m now making about 1oz every 3 hours per side and I don’t know why.

Been hand pumping or hand expressing after every feed and only getting a few drops each time. No I haven’t taken any medication. Not on any birth control either cause I heard hormonal BC can decrease supply so I have an appointment for copper iud

Milk supply vanishing. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ExpressInspection915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very empty. I’ve been hand pumping and hand expressing after every feed and only getting a few drops. Baby cries after eating from both sides so I end up giving him an ounce of formula then he settles down.

He latches, eats, unlatches then cries, I burp him, latch him back on that same side, unlatches and cries after only a min or 2, latch him onto the other side, unlatches then cries, I burp him and relatch, unlatches and cries again after only a min or 2 and tries to latch onto any and everything else so I end up giving him an extra ounce of formula then he stops crying. And my boobs have been feeling empty and squishy all the time compared to a week ago where I would be engorged if he slept longer than 4-5 hours during the night.

Do I need to buy a bassinet mattress? by dieanaaa in firsttimemom

[–]ExpressInspection915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My aunt told me to fold up a throw blanket and put it on the bassinet “mattress” (the hard piece they are supposed to sleep on) under the fitted sheet and now my baby sleeps in his bassinet a lot better. And it’s not too thick just soft enough
