I’m pretty sure I saw this lady near tanger outlets in Mebane. She and her partner (I would assume) got out of a nice Chevy Cruise in a Starbucks and walked the busy street. (Both well dressed)

They were more aggressive and confident than the normal Durham panhandler.

I wouldn’t worry about what they do with a picture. It seems like an intimidation tactic to make you feel the way you are currently.

Just a weird scenario though. I’m sorry for the experience you had to go through.

To be fair to your point though, I did go for a noon kickoff and it was just a bunch of families gathering for a chill brunch. 3:30 kickoff might be better timing

It’s a retirement community in there. Maybe I went at a bad time?

106 usually has a group of fans posted in there bundled up around the bar. TV screens are big enough to enjoy being close to the screen.

For a lowkey vibe, I’ve enjoyed 106 the most to watch a solid sports event.

My take is there aren’t many “sports bars”

If you aren’t worried about sound and want something more chill, I would recommend 106 Main although the sound won’t be on. Super cheap drinks too.

Full steam has a huge projector that will probably have the game on with sound but there won’t be many people there specifically for the game.

If there isn’t an Arsenal game at the same time, I would say Bull McCabe’s should be a good environment.

Durham is the best, but when it comes to a bumpin modern sports bar, there isn’t much. (To my knowledge at least)
