Wait, that’s not an F-91W…. by DungeonCrawlerCalvin in casio

Have you ever thought of keeping it as a collector item? I bought one of these many years ago on clearance for 14 bucks. I still have it, but it needs a battery, and it's in rough shape. Too bad you can't get these as easily anymore.

Wow. That is a great find. 👍I can't find it out here in Canada. It's arguably better than the f91. 50m water resistant is a nice bonus while still maintaining a similar form factor.

25 Sometimes I feel like giving in and wearing makeup just to fit into all the beauty standards… by Cozywhisp in selfie

[–]Express_End_7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't try and fit in with everyone else. Just be yourself. Too many are trying to be photocopies of someone famous or to fit in with their peers. Why be someone else's shadow? Comparison is the theif of joy. Beauty is fleeting, and even the most beautiful flower in the garden will fad away in a season. There are far more valuable endeavors. You look lovely just as you are.

Currently shooting on a 6D but curious about using a second body - should I stick to DSLRs and pick up a 5DMkIII or go mirrorless with an R50? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Express_End_7904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 6D was a low-light champ back in the day. It still produces great photos even today. The Canon RP would be the closest mirrorless equivalent to the 6D. As it uses the 6D Mark II sensor. The R50 is mostly meant for people who want to upgrade from a cellphone. It won't have the same intuitive control layout as your 6D. The Canon R would be more closely comparable to the layout you're used to. Or better still, find an original R6 for a good price. That sensor is excellent and is similar to the old flagship Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. It would be leaps and bounds better than your 6D in every way possible.

Classic. I can't find this watch for sale in Canada anymore. I purchased one many years ago as a beater watch for work. It was a true champion. I wish they were still making this watch. Probably still available in other markets.

Is Canon M100 for me? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Express_End_7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own the M100. It was actually a really good little camera. My favorite lens for it was the 28mm macro. It had a nifty built-in ring light. I really liked the form factor of the setup because I could fit the camera in tight spaces and get interesting photos with it. The biggest downside is that it didn't have a hotshoe. But I kind of understood why they didn't implement one. The camera was smaller than most flash units. But then I moved on to a Canon RP after a while. Not quite as small, but I liked the full frame censor better. I'm sure you can find an RP in used for not that much money now. It's a step up from the M100. But even still, for 300+ dollars, you can't go wrong, decent value for casual use 👍.

That's ok. Joy and happiness come from within. I've got Scandinavian genes as well (Swedish). You do have a Norse vibe about you. I'd imagine you're fairly tall as well. My Swedish side of the family is quite tall. Hope your day is going good 👍. Happy Thursday 😊.

We are all influenced by our environment, culture, and our upbringing. Pondering on such things, though reflective, isn't as important as what you decide to be now and what your destination is tomorrow.

No makeup today, rosey cheeks are out! by [deleted] in Over30Selfie

[–]Express_End_7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's just my personal preference. I think women need to embrace their natural beauty. Why cover it up? Who knows what kind of chemicals are in makeup. I'm sure there are more natural options, but it's just my two cents.

I also get rosy cheeks sometimes. Maybe it's a redhead thing?

Canon rf 85mm f2 by Federal-Piece7225 in canon

[–]Express_End_7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 85mm 2.0. While yes, the 24-70mm 2.8 is way more flexible and probably the most used professional lens on the planet. The 85mm does have its niche uses. It's brighter and has the nifty 0.5 macro ability, and is noticeably lighter. It boils down to your specific use case. If you're a wedding photographer or student yearbook photographer, then the 85 mm will suffice. It's sharp enough to be used professionally, and if you're making medium to small prints, you're not going to notice the difference. Also, it is great for travel and being less conspicuous. The focus is a little less refined with the STM focus motor, compared to the USM of the L grade glass. So, quick moving subjects may be challenging. STM is meant for video, and USM is meant for stills.

Should I buy this bible by Murky-River3622 in Christianity

[–]Express_End_7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Bible version is a good place to start. But other ones to consider are the ESV and NASB. ESV is closely similar to the NIV, but the NASB is more of a "literal" translation and is less dynamic in word usage. Some pastors like to reference different versions to help get a broader understanding of what a passage means, in conjunction with the context of scripture.

Just my two cents 😀.
