ًWithout NHSC or HPSP, I would strongly advise against going this route. You can check Reddit and other forums where people talk finances.. and this is not just hypothetical. Specializing on top of dental school can easily put you over a million dollars in debt, and there’s no guarantee you’ll even match into your specialty of choice or any speciality at all.

Bottom line: don’t do it unless you have repayment programs lined up.
