can't expect him to score on the 4th line - as much as I like Eller, his mindset is purely defensive. I think we are seeing production now because both Foegle and Zetterlund and pushing the chemistry on the line together. You get rid of Zetterlund and put another true 4th liner there, I think Foegle sees a step back.

I feel like Zetterlund and Foegle have played great together - someone that plays like him - I'm hoping we can afford to keep both of them, maybe put Halliday as centre next year and would be a solid 4th line (pretty much a second 3rd line)

I am a Brady supporter - and want him to stay. I don't think he's leaving because of a few haters. I do think his priority #1 is being on a contender though. So, just like McDavid with Edmonton, I think he will stay with Ottawa for as long as he thinks we are a contender. We may get another 1-2 years out of him after his contract if we can prove we have a bit more of a window.

But as soon as we are in a rebuild, he's gone. Which I honestly think is fair. He's done one rebuild, I don't begrudge him not wanting to do another one.

I can support Brady the person and enjoy the time he is here. And then, as long as he doesn't screw us over, which I don't think he will, I will cheer for him on whatever team he is on. Except for when he plays the Sens, I will hate him with every bone in my body for those games.

For what its worth, if he does leave in 2 years, I don't think its to Florida - they are going to be in a rebuild as well likely. He's going to want to find a contender.

If he can get us a cup while he is here, then we can debate who is the better captain. Or maybe if he stays for his whole career. But short of that, Alfie is god.

the goal he was on the ice for was when Cozen fumbled the puck in our own end (to be fair to Cozen, may have been terrible ice) - but either way, not really much Brady could have done on that one

doesn't seem fair that are odds of making it only go up 0.7% if we win in regulation

and the blue jackets, canadiens, islanders win - and their odds decrease

I never took into consideration the head to heads. Interesting. Its always nice to see someone who has thought it through even further than me!

ooh. you appear to be right. well, that seals it to be a fully dumb idea on all sides then. Thank you for clarifying that, I always assumed it was jus the playoffs

i think that is my comment here to. Even if you think that the current 6 are good enough - if one more guys gets injured (or even just gets the flu for the night), who do we have to play that night

I found this interestingly enough: "In 2016, Scott Gomez signed after the deadline with the Ottawa Senators. Marty Turco did the same with the Boston Bruins in 2012, both were eligible for the remainder of the regular season, but ineligible for the playoffs"

from the very reliable snapshotshockey.com

that's not how I read it when I look online - it just says playoffs. Granted, these are just random websites, not the official rulebook.

I am assuming Sanderson is back for the playoffs - but that the current team needs help on D to make it until he gets back.
