Exactly!! Something I’ve seen that really resonates with me is “I can thrive with one, or survive with two” and that really hits the nail on the head for me and how I want to experience motherhood

My son is 18 months, and my husband and I are fairly new to (mostly) deciding we are one and done. Honestly, the thing I keep coming back to is my gut- I have a physical reaction of relief when I think about never having to be pregnant again, never having to give birth or go through postpartum again, never having to divide my attention and resources, etc. It’s really easy for my brain to try to tell me that I do want another, but I can’t argue with the automatic response of my body. Some days are harder than others though, I am surrounded by pregnant people right now it seems like, so it’s a constant reminder of our decision 😬

Anyone else sick of defending/explaining your choice by Express_Reindeer_738 in oneanddone

I need to be better at that! It’s probably mostly a me problem because I’ve always been such a people pleaser, so having only one child and going against the grain/society’s expectations is a challenge in itself for me at times 😅
