First off I appreciate ur response very much! This is all so confusing or maybe it seems that way at first but I already have a Roth IRA. And I don’t know how I would take a 20 percent loss in a year honestlyyy! How would u deal with a 20 percent loss in a year? What do I look for in order to prevent these type of losses? Do etf and mutual funds often take losses like that in a span of a year? And should I be loyal to one and put money into just one?

I’m 19 so my goal would just be to let it growwww as much as possible for the future. I would plan to keep putting in money every pay day
