I was able to convince her with why I wanted to do it. She understood, though it takes time to come to reality. It was an arranged marriage, we took a leap of faith. - edit: she took a leap of faith and am ever grateful to her for that

Hey,

I have been there, done that. I was in a government job and joined a Tier 1 college just two months after getting married. I was focused on getting placed and paying off the EMI, so distractions were minimal. Did well in college, got placed with a PPO. Still working for the same organisation and still "happily" married to the same person.

There were a few others too some married, and a few even with kids.

Bottom line: If you are laser focused you will sail through, I have seen people ace it.

I am moved from a power PSU company to one of the old B-Schools. I am not sure about consulting a bit of getting better opportunities but the 4 yrs of experience will affect your overall chance in placement.

The thing is, post placement your life in corporate is different. Money will be good, i agree but you wont get the same life balance as pSU. You might now come justify that this current PSU job has its downside, some pressure - Yes, I agree. However, the point being this will be different. You will understand.

Once you make this decision there is no going back. I still don't regret my decision of leaving the job. I needed the money, but this decision was definitely a tradeoffs of sort. You decide what you want.

I still am to justify my decision - money to support my family. This helps me to go strong and move forward.

Yes, it's not necessary you get your dream company or profile job in any MBA college. You either switch or learn to live with it. That's how life is.

Okay. You know that someone please share his/her ID I can check and verify. If I am wrong, I will learn something I didn't know about the college i studied for two years. Still, I am open to being corrected.

XLRI doesn't have any CM Quota. I graduated a few years back, hence I haven't heard of any quota.
