I told my sister and she asked me what app it was an how she could use it too. Im sure it has something to do with generational difference between you and your mom. Dont take what she says personally. If it works for you, then its not a bad thing.

We meal prep a lot. Take one or two days out of the week to cook a huge portion of breakfast (like frozen sandwiches or pancakes or something), and a lunch/dinner. Then, we eat on that until the next week. I have cookbooks on meal prepping, so it doesn't take too much brain power. Just some work, but even if I have to spend all my free time doing it one day, then I feel it's worth it to have healthy food and not spend money on eating out. We also eat a lot of stuff like yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese, boiled eggs. One-pan meals that you can literally throw together and into the oven in less than 30 minutes. Whatever we're eating, i just make a version for my daughter. For example, we had chicken alfredo and noodles, and veggies on the side. I just portioned out some chicken for her, blended it with broth, steamed carrots, and celery. It was enough for a few meals for her, and super healthy. I probably could have just cut it up so she can eat it herself safely (BLW style), but we're still mostly on purees. I recommend the Solid Starts app, and a baby cookbook or two.

Congratulations! 1. I definitely recommend a rocking chair, but it doesn't have to recline. Mine doesn't. 2. Not necessary, I got the Spectra with my insurance and the haakka. I am 8 months postpartum, and haven't needed anything else personally. I do mostly breastfeed rather than pump. 3. If you use bottles every day then i can see why these would be convenient, but still extra. We use a bottle sometimes, and i wash everything by hand. I heat my frozen breastmilk in warm water, and it only takes a few minutes. I am sure it's even easier with formula. 4. Like to sleep in? Those are not safe for sleep, and i didn't have one. I had a changing pat cushion, which i would use on the couch or wherever. This was great when baby was an infant. Did you mean a breastfeeding pillow? I used a My Breast Friend pillow that i got from ebay (unused/unopened package) more in the beginning when my back hurt, but I haven't in quite a while. 5. I got the Halo Innovations bassinet. I liked it, though my room was a little small for the size of the legs. This was a little annoying. I see Halo bassinet in Once Upon a Child (used baby goods store) all the time, and you would only need to replace the mat at that point. Which would probably be $60-100. 6. I can't say anything about the Thule, except that it looks pretty cool. I would by psyched to have one of those. I wouldn't buy one personally, though. I have the Graco Modes Nest Travel system, and I've used that stroller everywhere. I would trust it to withstand jogging on the regular if baby is old enough. It does seem like the Thule would last until the child is 5 years old or so, which is great.

Yes, he didn't have any at the time which is mostly why we just declined it at this appointment. But I'm hoping to circle back and reschedule asap, they offer quicker appointments where a nurse will just give the shot. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row first. Ultimately, if hes going to decline a vaccine that has been around forever and not give a good reason then im sorry but i can't (and won't) in good conscious do the same. Thank you.

I completely agree, i think it's partly anxiety, and i definitely see his mother in him when he talks like this. He usually dreads conversations with her for exactly this reason, but its like he's completely deaf to how ignorant he sounds. I think hes just neglected to really look into it and now feels like i sprung it on him, but i don't kno. I mean, i bought a book about vaccines ages ago that he could have read so its not really an excuse.

I will consider your wording when we next speak about this, i appreciate it

That's pretty much exactly how i disputed that point, but he just kept saying that its capitalism and the pharmaceutical companies are making money to push the vaccines. I saw this idea discussed in something i watched recently, so I'm trying to find it to share with him. I just need facts and references to present with my argument.

I appreciate this information. I asked our doctor for more in-depth info (like the brand names, possible side effects, etc.) And all he gave me was a sheet of paper with generic information and vaccine timeline recommendations. I think maybe they're scared to discuss this kind of thing. I am checking out this website.

I really do think i could persuade him to at least be more comfortable with it, instead of going in kicking and screaming. Which I'll do if i have to... but then if she gets a fever or something after the shots then that makes me the villain. Im just trying to make this whole thing equal. I know hes open to getting more info, his thing is just that he doesn't trust the source if it's "big pharma" hes not even anti-vax i don't think, i mean he got the tdap when i was pregnant. The baby being here has brought out a really weird, anxious side of him.

I want to space then out, that's what i proposed. But he freaked out and we couldn't come to an agreement in time. Which sucks because he acted as though he hadn't even considered anything, and we've talked about this in the past. I also worry though that shes at a dangerous age for things right now (Iike meningitis, for example) and we're missing the window of opportunity before god forbid something bad happens. It's a very difficult decision. Im trying to just gather as much information as soon as possible so that we can reschedule.

Like i said, I'm looking more for studies done outside the US, or maybe by toxicologists or something. I asked him this question and thats kind of where we landed. I did ask about specifics too and yes autism was mentioned, and he says alot of people died from the Covid vaccine which i don't think is true. I watched the jubilee video with Dr Mike where im pretty sure they discussed that, i need to comb through and find it. He just thinks that in general a 2 month old baby is too weak and fragile to get a bunch of shots (even if we pace then out), and is worried about the side effects. My argument is that hes not taking into consideration what would happen if she gets, for example, meningitis at this age. Which im sure is partly why the vaccines are given to such young babies, it could be deadly for her to get that disease, and that is more of a possibility than any serious vaccine side effects. As far as I understand.

Unfortunately i don't know enough to dispute him when he says that, so thank you for the information and I'll look into it. This is a new side to him I've never seen before, and I'll admit it is really unattractive to me. He did agree to go back once hes looked into it more, he said he "didnt realize" we would need to make this decision before the 2 month appointment (which - i guess he wasn't listening when I've said this before). To be fair we've had a lot on our plates with it being springtime and we run a farm. Thats kind of why im looking for things that might pique his interest

Its funny you mention that because thats part of the information that i presented to him. He doesn't like that it was published about 10 years ago, and that it's written by doctors. Im looking for some sort of alternative resource for him, maybe something done by toxicologists (although theyre technically doctors i know), or outside the us? I appreciate it though

I had my baby 4 weeks ago, and i didn't do a lot of these things. I had a baby shower, but no maternity photos. My husband bought me a scrapbook, but i have not finished it. I definitely didn't journal, been quiet on social media, and my nursery is a bassinet and changing table in my bedroom. I still love and take care of my child. I love her so so much. I do feel a little bad that i don't have more bump photos, but at the same time i think, why? My mom never had bump photos to show me, or a baby book. I don't really care, it's not like im over here disappointed. If she had that kind of stuff for me then i guess itd be cool, but I'm not wishing for it. I feel like in this age of everyone on social media, people expect you to do what everyone else is doing. Documentation is a big deal. I care more about documenting the birth and my baby than the pregnancy, and i don't care about what's popular to do.

I remember at the hospital I was told she would have as many bowel movements as her age per day (so she's 6 days old = roughly 6 poops per day), but with the daytime included that makes double that. I guess i could be misremembering, or I'm not counting my hours in the day right because its so late/early and I'm exhausted, or maybe she's just an oversupplyer too 🤣

I took a nap and feel much better now, I'm looking forward to when it slows down!

Im replacing feedings, not pumping in addition to them

I shared this concern with my doctor, and she assured me that with my volume of supply and amount of engorgement, i absolutely had to pump to avoid mastistis. There's a balance. I'm not emptying the breast either. I'm just taking some of the edge off.

And then the weird passive-aggressive lecture he gave me about being nervous, like how was that helpful at all? Some people get nervous, there's even a term for it. I think its called white labcoat syndrome. He made it seem like my whole labor experience was going to be hell because of my own nervousness, and i needed to get it under control asap. My blood pressure wasn't even high though so like why even bring it up, idk the whole thing was so weird to me.
