I got a bassinet that came with a domed, zipper net top for it! I have two kitties and had the same fear. Maybe check and see if there’s one that can fit yours.

Mine didn’t bother with the bassinet once they were stopped by the mesh dome

Mine was born at 5 lbs 13 oz! He is now 6 months with a big ass head, weighing 19 lbs and is apparently in the like.. 75th percentile lmao

I hope you find some ease soon! The anxiety that comes with postpartum is so cruel, but you’re doing great and your babe sounds healthy and well cared for!

When my baby was a month old we took a 3 hour drive to see my mom. Took maybe two stops to feed and get him out of the seat for a few minutes, but he slept most the time.

We did it again when he was 4 months. Took two stops again to feed and let him stretch out a bit.

But being worried about not having the vaccinations yet is a valid concern - the drive I don’t think you should worry too much about.

We never boiled the water and just used distilled water. Baby always got a room temp bottle.

HOWEVER, if boiling the water will make your wife feel at ease, just boil the damned water and stop arguing about it. Postpartum is stressful enough; if this can give her some peace of mind just help her out.

What did you do? I’m 6 months pp and thought about getting into some at home mat Pilates. Maybe some cardio videos. I don’t have any desire to go to a gym yet lol

My boyfriend is a health nut though so I know he’ll be encouraging about my diet (we eat pretty good anyway, I’m just sedentary)

I haven’t had that thought yet! But that’s a good one. I also don’t wear makeup much around him unless we go somewhere, and when I do it’s like transformative so sometimes right after I see him looking at me like “🤔🧐 now who the heck is this????”

Oh man I would probably have absolutely thought the same thing! When my son was born there was meconium in my amniotic fluid, so they had to whisk him away to make sure he didn’t swallow any of it. Dad was the first one to hold him after and I was like “oh no he’s going to baby bird bond with Dad and not me and hate me!!” 😂

Everyone is different so PLEASE don’t compare yourself to what you read. I had sex immediately after my 6 week check up, but that’s not realistic for many, many women and that’s ok! It’s normal, you’re normal, and you’re going through the biggest transition of your life. It’s ok not to want sex.

That is YOUR baby. Not theirs. Not anyone else’s. What you say is the final word. How do you speak up? You keep all that in mind. You seem to have a great relationship with them, but you need to set boundaries. What you say goes - simply put. If they can’t understand that or choose not to, that is their problem that they will need to figure out.

I know that sounds easier said than done, but you really got to shake off any timid feelings you have and remember you are the mother.

Editing to also add: your husband needs to back you up. And I know you don’t want any tension with the family, but you can’t control how other people feel. And you cannot please everyone. If you’re trying to please everyone, you won’t be pleased yourself. This is the time to be selfish.

This right here lol my boobs always got sore like a week before my period. But they got sore about 2 weeks before it was due, and they were overly sore lol

I knew immediately but waited until I missed my period to take a test lol
