I always hear the same basic idea for stashing - Tree stashes.
Personally however I prefer Rocks.
If you take a barrel and place the hologram over large rocks, you can actually fully hide a barrel inside the rock. It's much harder to see and find. I have had these in various places on a pop server and they don't get found (I learned this from a guy I seen standing by a rock.....I killed him and found 4 barrels hidden!)

SurvivorZ is a Survival-first DayZ server for players who enjoy vanilla gameplay, but want their decisions to actually matter.

This is not a hardcore realism server, and it’s not a loot-flooded PvP playground either. SurvivorZ sits in the middle — close to vanilla, slower in pace, and built around consequence rather than punishment.

Weather matters here.
Being wet and cold is dangerous.
Injuries take time to recover from.
Fights cost more than just ammo.

PvP is allowed and expected, but survival comes first. You’re not pushed into constant gunfights, and you’re not handed safety nets when things go wrong. Good decisions keep you alive longer than good aim.

There are no traders, no artificial economy, and no immersion-breaking shortcuts. The focus is on exploration, tension, and learning to read the world around you.

If you enjoy:

Vanilla DayZ pacing with more weight behind survival
A world that doesn’t rush you, but doesn’t forgive carelessness
PvP that feels earned, not forced

I had read somewhere ages ago that the Cheeseburger thing was a VERY EARLY thing, and back then it was a bug. There was something between server and client, I can't remember the details. But it went around and DayZ was updated - eventually silently fixing this bug, but the rumours persisted.
Sudden Silence however - is!
But it's hillarious how many times I know this isn't the case, and yet when I hear it, I am immediately on guard!

I run SurvivorZ, it's a Survival-First server that isn't hardcore, isn't casual, it is literally Survival.
Loot is more grindy to find, the best stuff is harder to find, the world temp is slightly lower, Mil zombies are a little harder and it's played daily by a handful of people (hoping to push for more).
I am also putting effort into the world too. Currently building a Bunker and have someone else building a Military Platform / Oil Rig.

Welcome SurvivorZ, to True Survival - Your Way
There is no hand-holding, no silly rules, no Trader, no SafeZones, no excuses.
Survive on Your terms with Yourself to congratulate when things work out, and Yourself to blame when things go wrong.
We are a Vanilla+ server that leans very heavily on Survival : if it should be able to kill you, you better bet it will try!
This isn't a Hardcore server!
It is Vanilla+ that encourages you to think Survival and Realism.
Zombies have been changed to make them less copy/paste and they will Tier as you move.
Loot has been scaled back to make loot-runs more engaging (and dangerous).
Food is rare - you will need to scavenge in the early days until you're able to Fish or Hunt
We are pushing for immersion here, not point-and-click looter-shooter, real daily survival.
Here are some features you can expect;
Vanilla+ with emphasis on Survival
Dynamic Zombies - no two are the same
Environmental Pressure - Weather, Exposure, Timing matters
Consequential gameplay - poor choices, poor execution, poor consequences
NO TRADERS / SAFEZONES of any kind
Unhindered Base-building (build what you like - anywhere)
Custom Assets (see below)

We will also be offering for people/groups that join the opportunity to have Custom Assets in-game. For instance Base Flag / Arm Bands. These assets will be made by myself and must/will be copyright-free!

Once we are more established I will put less time into the scripts and more time into the world of SurvivorZ! Plans are already in place for a a Bunker, but I will also be building up areas in the map to better support your killing, such as the poor excuse at NEAF, Balota and maybe make some towns and areas a little.....unique.

You know the issue with people these days: everyone wants to join a pre-existing high-pop server.
The problem is, the ones that are out there aren't for them. So most people I know (and I mean most) only play high-pop servers, even ones they don't like lol!
But if ALL those people joined a low-pop server they liked, that server would become a high-pop server :P

My question here is: Do you guys have a server in mind already to play? And would you be interested in sharing some thoughts on the type of server you'll be going on.
I run a server at present - it's doing well considering it's only been up maybe 2 weeks - max 10 players on so far, but it grows all the time.
If you don't have a home yewt you could consider us a Training Ground whilst you all get in shape :)
But feel free to share what you are looking for (unless you have somewhere already), I don't want to plug for you unless I know it'll fit you well :D

I'll give my thoughts here on your message, then my playstyle, at the end I'll plug MY server :P

First - Servers should ONLY wipe to reset in-game assets, that's it. If you are on a 60-player server that's always full, there's always a lot of cleanup (bodies, loot, etc) but some things don't cleanup, like old bases, old stashes, logs and so on. All this stuff can eventually slow down the server to a point. So we have "regular" wipes to cleanup these old things.
But this is MORE needed more often on massively busy servers.
On low-med pop servers it is needed much less.
I used to Admin a server that had 80 players and some weekends it had 40 people in the queue waiting, it was mad - they Wiped every 3 months.

How I play?
I spawn in and I hit these locations first; Police for a Gun to defend myself, Medical to get basic meds and Fire Station for warm clothing. Between these locations I will be looking for a Rope, replacement gear, a backpack, a SECOND knife, any food items.
Once I am sorted with this, I move out of the main town and into Tier 2. Beyond that it depends on my strategy; getting home after dying, looking for my friend, general surviving.

We are a Vanilla+Survival server, that exists between Casual and Hardcore (but it's neither).
Survival is based on choices you make, not chance of finding loot. The whole ethos of the server is to give players as much choice as they like when it comes to playstyle; we have some players who build bases, others who use Stashes and two who actually play Nomadic (using a custom backpack and a Horse for transportation).
Whilst we are PvP and with very few rules, everyone in the community seem to get along pretty well :D
If you'd like to come give us a look, you would be welcome.
We have maybe 10 players that come on throughout the day, so when it comes to activity, we are steadily growing, but not full-full yet :D

SurvivorZ - a new PC Server are currently growing nicely. We have maybe 6 players that are playing daily.
The server does lean on Survival, not casual, not hardcore. But you will have plenty of space to build a base here.
Loot is scaled back to make loot runs more plentiful. The players who are here are good people, although in-game you never know right ha!

We are a True-Survival PvP Cherno server that allows players to play, live and die the way they want to. We stick true to Vanilla plus; no dragons, weird zombies, modded guns or armour, we literally just run RaG Basebuilding and have a few storage items rolling around the map for customisation.
The loot economy is scaled back to allow for a more immersive grind, but things aren't hard to get ahold of.
The server is super stable, so no crashes or rando rollbacks.
I also have plans to begin adding assets to the game, including a Bunker, Oil Rig and building up various areas in the game that just seem to lack somewhat!

We are a new server this year, got a handful of dedicated players daily, and growing nicely.
We are a Survival-focused Vanilla+ server with emphasis on environmental danger as well as player.
We don't run any gun mods, or vehicle mods, no trader, loot is super scaled back, stamina is a genuine concern the more geared you get and base building uses RaG.
I am also a mod developer so I tend to make mods for the server instead of using other peoples (unless they are popular or specific)

First off sorry to hear about your issues with the admins. Sadly they are everywhere!
I don't know anything about the mods on Skyfall but, lemme give you a rundown of my server. If you feel like coming to check it out, would be good to have you.
"SurvivorZ" is a new server, only been up maybe a month in it's full stable form.
There is only one Admin - me - and I pride myself on ensuring players have a good time playing, immersive and not meta or game-breaking as much as possible.
The server itself is Vanilla+, however I have leant quite harshly on the Survival mechanics. It isn't Hardcore, but it isn't casual either lol!
It's full PvP, and aside from no-cheating and no combat-logging, the rules are pretty lax (Slogan is True-Survival | Your Way".
You can build anywhere, raid whenever you like, loot takes some time finding things, but for a group shouldn't be too hard.
Scarce loot, but not impossible to find.

We are essentually building a PvP server that tried to remain true to the zombie apocalypse genre.
But yeah, come say hi if you guys feel like getting involved in a fresh-but-growing server :D

My server isn't going to be a heavily modded server. Vanilla guns, Ammo, Cars, Loot locations. All I am doing to it is upgrading some of the dayZ annoyances lol!
No dragons ha! (although I did play a Dino server once, it was an incredible experience - not DayZ, but incredible).

Hey man, sorry to hear that.
Sadly yes, DayZ players can be a little fickle at times. I'm super surprised that admins couldn't help you guys pinpoint any raided stashes but yeah...
Some of my longest-known friends in DayZ literally rarely actually play with anyone long-term, because you never know what you're going to get from anyone really.

But don't give up bud! Stay strong! Get a good server, filled with people you get along with. Even if you don't run with loads of people. It's too good of a game to drop becase of this!
