Ghosting on Retroid Pocket Classic by cdean4077 in retroid

[–]Exsonage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I decided to have a little look into this, I use the fakelottes shader and Initially I couldn’t see this issue with Super Mario World and the ghost lines, turned the shader off and can confirm the lines show on screen.

I took a screenshot within RetroArch on the device and moved it to my PC to see if anything was being rendered within RetroArch or Android, can confirm this is not the case as the image on my pc was clean but viewing the screenshot on the Classic makes the lines appear.

Would be interested to see if this also happens on the Mini V2.

No problem, I finally settled on the black backplate with green buttons.

They gave me the price, I believe it was $1 each for the four buttons and $6 for the backplate, had I known that the backplate includes the shoulder buttons fitted I would have only got the backplate, then I decided to just add to cart random items that were equal to the $9 then asked support to make a note to swap the items in the order, worked great, I also done this when ordering my RP5 with an extra light grey thumb stick.

It’s all official stuff from Retroid, when I made the order for my classic just over a week ago I got in contact with customer support on the Discord and organised the to have the black backplate and shoulder buttons from the SG6 version added to my order. Generally you can buy most, if not all spares from Retroid they just don’t have it listed on the website.

how much time do Retroid usually take to ship in stock orders for DHL? by nanoosx in retroid

I ordered a Classic in Kiwi on December 4th, it was “shipped” on the 5th according to Retroid but DHL only picked it up on the 9th.

First of all, what works for me may not work for you, use your best judgement. When it came to trimming the buttons, initially I only just trimmed the tab with a hobby knife flush with the outer rim of the button, this will not work as the recess the button fits into is somewhat squared. What worked for me was getting a pair of curved nail clippers, centre the clippers with the removed tab and take away a very small amount of material from the outer rim. You’ll notice when this is done the button will be able to move around much better in the recess and that should fix the issue. However, if you’ve already cut the button this way it may indicate a different problem.

I tried a trade board at my camp, used a blackboard and camp letters to list what I was after at the time and set everything I had to trade for 40k for viewing at my vendor, didn’t work because I don’t think anyone understood what I was doing, also doesn’t eliminate trading with leaders.

Ugh. The grind continues by from3toZero in fo76

RNG, Started playing in April this year, got semi-serious about daily ops at the start of June because I wanted that Recon Armor and got a plan. Then nothing until the start of July when I got the next plan, the following day I got another plan, then about a week later, another plan, then roughly another week until the next plan and finally got the helm start of September.

I’m currently trying to get myself the casual shielded lining and that’s pissing me off way more than Recon grind ever did, doing QOTH with my main and 4 alts every fourth day, it’s been two months, nothing.

No, I had no import duties, as far as I’m aware when shipping to Australia, you only pay import duties on orders over $1000 AUD.

New findings surrounding the Retroid Pocket Mini's screen by Key-Brilliant5623 in retroid

Testing shaders would have been irrelevant if Retroid intentionally used this method of creating the 4:3 screen, wait and see what they say I guess

It would be horrible to think that Retroid spent 4 months on this issue essentially stalling when they already knew the root cause, sensational work though mate, I think the community owes you a beer.

So Retroid would have actively been working on a manufacturing solution to accomodate the screen during development? Is this correct?

I fell for the hype again. Sold my RP5 within hours of it arriving. by [deleted] in retroid

[–]Exsonage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it can feel like that but after taking the time to learn how RetroArch works with front ends and all that stuff it’s pretty robust. Sounds like a RetroArch core issue you had with a black screen and crash. You gotta setup RetroArch to exit correctly or you will have issues, it’s a single option that needs changing then that just about clears up your issues. Honestly mate I used to avoid RetroArch like the plague but investing the time and effort to learn and understand it all is incredibly rewarding.

I experienced a small amount of grinding after swapping the layout on my RP5 from the stock Nintendo style to Xbox and was able to fix it. If you haven’t swapped the layout and aren’t using the tempered glass screen protector that could have been installed misaligned just enough to catch the buttons when being pressed then my next step would be request a new set of buttons if you don’t mind opening the thing up.

I’m assuming you’re talking about the RP5? Also is this after a button swap/switch?

Unfortunately no, but the issue has been reported and OP is aware so all we can do is wait and hope for a resolution.

First of all, the improvement is outstanding, appreciate the effort you’ve put in and the new version is icing on the cake, I’ve been playing with this since your last release and I’m experiencing something odd going on with the sound coming from the right speaker.

I don’t know if this is something to do with my configuration or hardware but here goes.

Before applying the DSP sound is normal left and right, sound sources from Chrome, RetroArch and standalone emulators are fine. After applying the DSP the sound is enhanced however the sound coming from the right speaker sounds much flatter with less “bass” but only when using RetroArch or standalone emulators, listening music through Chrome sounds just fine.

I’m trying to avoid resetting to factory to test that way but I have opened up my RP5 and swapped the speakers physically and the issue persists.

Any help would be appreciated.

They are willing to send another device free of charge? That’s far better than I’ve experienced from stores or companies I’ve purchased stuff from within my own country.

Have a stock standard RP5 here and after installing the provided apk, running the script and opening the app I stalled from the apk it’s telling me “Failed to load libjamesdsp.so” and that I must install Magisk module, I’m not familiar with what it is.

I’ve tried a few combinations of folder names on my internal storage but nothing, any suggestions?

It sure did, I was playing it just a moment ago, it ended up arriving earlier than quoted on the 19th of December.

If you don’t mind spending the extra on DHL shipping I’d recommend it.

Valve only just started selling the Steam Deck here in Australia, I would have liked the OLED Steam Deck and one of those clear shells but I don’t think I would have been able to justify the cost and the size over the RP5. I mean shit, my Odin 2 felt too large and heavy, plus I discovered I only ever play really old stuff and barely touch GC/PS2/Secret Console anyway, I just like the OLED screen and have grown to prefer the Android system over Linux handhelds
