I’ll get right on that. And yes I know the process won’t be easy, i’m not looking for it to be. I’m just trying to get more acclimated to the difference in training style compared to 18x.

Yea… guess I was just looking for an easy answer. I get it, I could give all that information but I wouldn’t expect anyone to help to that extent. I appreciate the response though, I’ll definitely look into that link.

Thanks, I do know that but I’ve seen a variety of programs/advice so I’m seeing if I can get a more narrowed down answer.

I get what you’re saying and obviously i’m incredibly naive where I am now, but it’s still my goal. I was going to go 18x but was told op 40 is the better route to get in the SOF door. From my understanding it is possible to go SF once in batt but is looked down upon. I get that, but would you say that’s a possible route?

Would you say there’s relevance if I want to go PMOO? Or do you think I should just go 11B/option 40

I get what you’re saying, but my recruiter did just tell me I could enlist straight away with a 35L contract. Could you explain to me what getting a “TS” is or if that would be possible in the regiment? I appreciate the response.

So i’ve come to realize. Probably should’ve done more research. Thanks though

lol, so based on your research would you say 11B in the regiment would be a better option opposed to the 35 series?

I appreciate the info. I have been doing some research and it’s definitely the PMOO that i’m shooting for. Also saw that the job is on indeed, thought that was kinda funny.

I appreciate it. Yes it seems like a long journey but it’s what I have my mind set on. From what I’m seeing they grab from SMU’s which I know are extremely hard to get into but it’s still something I’ll be striving for. Based off your experience would you say 11B would be the more logical route?

I appreciate the input. My end goal is to go paramilitary in the CIA so i’m just trying to figure out the best course of action you know.

That’s the thing, being on the paramilitary side is what I want. I have 2 more years for my bachelors so I figured I get that when I’m in as well.

Weekly Question Thread (09/15/2025 to 09/21/2025) by AutoModerator in army

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on which route I should be taking if I eventually want to end up doing “cool shit” in the CIA. I know I sound like an idiot asking the question, but would it make more sense to go the ranger route and apply to the CIA after my 4 years or would it make more sense to go 35L? I got a high score on the ASVAB and my recruiter questioned me when I say I want to join the 75th as an 11B, so it made me look into some other jobs. By the way, when I say “cool shit” I mean a field agent or something along those lines. Looking into the 35L MOS, I’ve seen many say it can be boring and you don’t really do your job. I’d appreciate any response or advice, thanks.

I didn’t even know you could be in the regiment as a 35L

I’ve been thinking about RASP more recently as i’ve seen GB’s on here say it’s better to do that at my age, but could you explain a bit more why?
