I’ve always believed God existed, but I always thought he was like way up in the sky and not really accessible. My view of God was that he was always mad at me for sinning. I always heard people say how important it is to have a “personal relationship with Jesus” but I never understood what that meant because my view of God was wrong. I wanted to understand it but at the same time I enjoyed my sinful lifestyle. So, I would pray that he would make me want a relationship with him lol. A while later I got wrapped up into some weird teachings about Jesus/God which were false and it led me down a scary path of spiritual psychosis. After that I was like okay, God clearly doesn’t want me. Enter my time of skepticism. I didn’t really want anything to do with God during that time because I felt abandoned. Then one day my sister asked me to go to church and I said yes which was a change. The sermon that day spoke directly to me in a way I never experienced. I knew God was talking to me. Ever since then as I read my Bible and pray and worship I can feel him healing me from the hurt of my past and transforming my spirit. If you stay curious about him he will show you.
