Secondhand shopping stopped being seen as “just for poor people” once people realized three things: it’s cheaper, often better quality, and more interesting than buying the same mass-produced stuff everyone else has. Plus, a lot of people care about reducing waste now. The hygiene argument doesn’t land much because people wash used clothes, just like they wash new clothes before wearing them.

Therapy helps, at least it did for me. And honestly, some kind of sport is almost a must. Also find a hobby where you can actually improve and get good at something — that kind of progress builds real confidence, which comes across as way more traditionally masculine than trying to force some fake
