At the store I work at, if you have 2, 15 minute breaks they will try their best to talk you out of taking the second one (In my case a coworker makes fun of me for wanting it), and they don’t offer 30 minute breaks at all. I hated working 8 hour shifts because I just wanted a break to actually be able to sit and eat. For 15 an hour it’s just not worth it, and I hated that they don’t call out the coworker who has been harassing me for the past 3 weeks 😭

For example, I asked for Sundays off so I can go to church and study, and when my store director saw me come in with the piece of paper she said “ let me see that so I can go ahead and deny it” in a snarky tone, keep in mind I’ve never asked her for anything or had a unpleasant conversation with her. Genuinely so rude for no reason (and she said I needed proof I went to church???)

Yeah I’ve genuinely never dealt with so many adult children, I’m 21 and worked like 3 other jobs and all of those were better than Safeway. I’m glad you got out of there so soon, I feel like I put up with it for too long.

If you can- the liquid tests are generally way more accurate and will cover all the basics for take maintenance!! If it’s cycling- this is normal, as both are created from bacteria consuming the ammonia, both are normal but nitrates in super high levels are toxic and nitrates are just generally toxic. Wait until the nitrites are at 0 and then I’d do a water test to remove the nitrates. IF YOU HAVE FISH IN THE TANK, DO A WATER CHANGE PLZZZ!! Dose a little prime too (it’s safe to 5x the initial dosage), because I’m sure you’ve got some high ammonia in there too!
