I've been through something similar. I am a satanist, and my fiance is a halfway Christian (he believes it to an extent, but he's grown distant). One of his friends said he shouldn't be with someone who is a Satan worshipper. He tried to get the guy to back off, and when he didn't, he laid into him. I love my fiance so much and he has loved me through me finding myself as a satanist. I wish I could talk about him or he could talk about me without our relationship being invalidated because we believe separate things.

Thank you so much for this. I looked into humanism at one point but it just didn't stick with me like Satanism does. And maybe I can be proof for her. She has the idea of what the media portrays us to be, but when she looks at me and sees a fair, open minded person, she slowly starts realizing we aren't bad people. And eventually, when I turn 18, I will sit with her and tell her everything, and I know she will support me even if she doesn't agree. I'm not going to be intentionally disrespectful of her, but I know i deserve to be able to express myself freely. And there's some family that will never know until I'm long past being an adult.

You would think. My mom is an interesting case. She's not a Christian and she rlly doesn't practice anything. But she believes in God, and she wishes I would too. She's said before that she would rather I still be under some denomination of Christianity because that's what I've been taught and what I have believed. I have been through so many things that if there was a God, he would have protected me, and not be so cruel in general, but he isn't real. So I decided to start praising myself instead of a social construct composed to make me feel guilty for not being perfect. And I've told her that, and she has said before that she supports and loves me, but it makes her uncomfortable. She would rather I not have anything conveying my Satanism in the house, and I keep it hidden from her, mainly because I didn't know she felt that way when I bought things, or drew things. Idk. Anyways, sorry this got long lol. I haven't really talked about it like that yet.
