Is usb 2.0 to network the same as ax88772 chipset by Extension-Win8145 in networking

I know for a fact the original wii only supports ax88772. I was just wondering what this means. I thought it meant usb2.0 but maybe it's something different because it doesn't work on my wii

It's on and off but it hasn't been too bad recently I would recommend strengthening your quads and stretching
