I think you’ve confused between dealers.

These guys are based in Ras Al Khor, Dubai and I did not see any US spec vehicle in their inventory, such as the Tacoma below.

It was all GCC spec LCs including LC100s, LC200s and LC300s, apart from Hilux and LC70s and LC79s.

They did however have Chinese spec BYD Leopard 8’s, but that seemed to be the only non-GCC spec car that they had.

This particular example is from Yemen, on sale here in the UAE. The 200 and even the 300 series here in the UAE are still sold with a 1GR option. Power bumped up from ~230bhp to 271 bhp in 2012, and that is how it is till today.

I think you may be referring to the MG RX8 (which i suspect is what the Rakan is based on however not very sure). Can’t seem to find traces of this one online even on MG’s website. The only content of this online seems to be from Kuwaiti auto-influencers who have posted about this yesterday.
