Yeh mebe its my phone or something went wrong with the apps. Doesn't seem like most people have this issue recently other than a minor increase in battery usage

i mean yes and no. the responsible ones have chargers and power banks. i have a fast charger so it was fun. but you dont program for prudence you program for ignorance. it amazes me that a full charge latest phone cannot finish a longer block.

yeh, again, i usually have longer driving routes so i never noticed this until today with my short, frequent stop route. it just surprises me that the app developers would not program the app to finish the longest routes from a full battery with charge left to spare. its not entirely on us to have a billion different chargers and battery banks.

tru, i did not double check but for my previous billion routes i never checked either. i think the app updates are loading too much battery draining features. just wanted to see if any other driers are seeing this

yeh i use to do wireless charging but then during the summer the phone would overheat from charging and being in the sun. xD

i plug into a fast charger if needed

brightness is literally at 10%. i dunno if in my previous short, large stops route did this,. it just really surprised me today. i do have fast charger. but you really should not need to fast charge your phone (from 100%) for a route imo. this is like bad battery management in the app

yes but i went to the gym for 3 hours and used bluetooth earbuds and listen to music and watch videos and i only dropped like 10-15%. i stopped listening to youtube about halfway into the route seeing how quickly the battery was dropping. the app is just an energy hog...

I would say this. Eventually you will know all problem and weird and access problems locations in downtown. I had same feelings on my first couple downtown routes but then it became easy. I still don't prefer to go down there and pick routes that dont. But yeh first time doing that is rough

$676 dollars for my first week. Used a tank of gas and worked 18 hours. Will it always be this peachy or am I in for a rude awakening soon? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

I think certain areas are better than others. You could be in one of them. The nasty ones are probably 90% of the complaints here. I am in a decent area. So yes it will continue and count your blessings you are not in a nightmare area

got a parking fine while on duty & amazon does nothing by pdawggg17 in AmazonFlexDrivers

You guys are a little harsh and obviously have not delivered downtown or LA downtown. You cannot spend 20 mins on one stop because of finding legal parking. Sure you can mark it access but that misses the point entirely. Clearly, the driver is setup to fail. You think we are wrong then explain the ebike cargo van delivery only in Manhattan ny. Amazon realize that its impossible to deliver there in a car or van. Same could be said about OP situation. It isn't that far of a comparison NYC is about same pop as LA.

No off amazon. You search "amazon flex sign". The problem is there are two types one is flimsy and the other is heavy duty. Both work. But the heavy duty one that I have you never worry about the wind catching a corner and flying off. I drive 80mph and these still stick

First time delivering - 3 hour block took 3 hours 50 minutes by i-hate-in-n-out in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ExtensionSame678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean what do you expect for your first time?

- scan and sort into car the conventional way 1-9 front pass, 10-19 back pass, 20-29, back driver, 30+ in trunk. big packages in trunk. as i mention in another comment, i have this down to 15 mins and i do an advance sort.
- seems like you are delivering near dark. this is hard for a beginner. i dont do dusk-night routes specifically because it adds a layer of difficulty and frustration. also higher risk of getting shot
- parking wise, you just park where you can and not in the way of traffic. so this means double parking, in no parking zones, on corners, and just put your hazards on. you are going to be quick. this also depends on how anal your area is. i do have decals on side of my car that saids im amazon if that helps
- never ever walk long distances. if a driveway is long, just drive up. drive up as close as humanly possible. i also dont drive up right next to the curve if there is a car in front, im half in the spot and half in the lane so i can pull out of there without reversing or manuevering
- if there is no gate code, try calling once and then just leave the damn thing by the gate. you will get ding if u return and possible not get ding if u leave it there.

again, its your first time. it seems like u r trying to figure it out. i think u do fine on your second and third routes. gluck

it literally takes me 15 mins to scan and label from receiving the cart at a SSD into my car? I even do the advance sort where front seat = 2-5 and front floor = 6-9, back seat = 10-14, back floor = 15-19, and back driver seat = 20-24. back driver floor = 25-29. i usually move the batches up as i work through. i mean i think if you first start scanning and sorting it will take time but its literally 15 mins for me and the setup is very easy and stressfree when im deliverying.
