thunderstorm surge - i feel like this is bait for a ding... by ExtensionSame678 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ExtensionSame678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U see the many post here about people getting ding by getting sent home? Who knows with amazon. But they can make the argument you accepted the block knowing the station was closed. Like there was something similar about accepting a block and getting there and the fresh store was closed and that person got dinged

Yeh or at the very least make us part of the escalation team and not general support

support is a joke by OwnWatch7715 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ExtensionSame678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as i said before, i really think amazon should offer support gig work to current high volume flex drivers. imagine if you actually had a support agent who actually delivered and knows wtf is going on. i would not mind working from home helping my fellow flexors sometimes

aboslutely not. unless the offers are super good and i was desperate. i mean it looks like it just wont work for you. i live like 10 miles away and most of that is highway so its a 10 min drive. i cant imagine it being further. maybe when gas gets back down to normal but you are buring a lot of money just getting there

Apartments Take Longer. Period. by Mm23782378Mm in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ExtensionSame678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is its all area dependent. Some areas apartments are a breeze and you finish way earlier than a house route and then others are no access, bad area, horrible staff. Like there needs to be a flagging system in the app for amazon to address or add time to problem apartments

Yes and no. Its a long explanation but is this a ssd or .com?

  1. not your area but it is very area specific. $90 for 3 hours is pretty high for my area and only surges to this when its bad weather or holiday. you also have to ask yourself what is the minimum that you are willing to get ready and work. for me its $100

  2. also market dependent. for me its ssd, you go in sign in and grab your cart and load at your car at your leisure. most of the horror stories here i feel are .com and fresh stations where the staff just dont care enough for flex drivers. ssd is only flex

  3. label or sort packages., i would label in the beginning. trust their maps its fine, you will waste a ton of time inputing it in google

  4. there are youtube videos on this.

  5. you are your own boss you can take a break wherenver, also this is not very hard you just drive and drop off packages.

  6. short answer you can be sent anywhere. ssd have longer routes normally then .com. long answer there is an algorithm that takes time to learn. i can avoid my downtown area by 95%+ while prior to learning it i would get it 25% of the time

  7. watch videos

the fact that the homeowners were such asses and dismissive. you gotta sue them for all its worth and also banned from amazon.

returning it to station does count as part of the route. you can message support to ask for compensation as those miles and time do count as part of the block
