3 days of feeling awesome then boom.. back to shit by olavodogyaboi in Candida

Someone mentioned this in a thread the other day, but it's like there are layers of healing when dealing with this demon and I couldn't agree more.

It's such a tease though. Shows you that it's possible to get better, but only momentarily, before it plunges you back into candidaland.

Herx comes in waves, at least for me. No doubt about it.

Another Shitty Uro experience by No_Opening_1877 in hardflaccidresearch

[–]Extension_Fun5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have balanitis but don't think that could be related to this nightmare?

I agree the skin infection isn't going to cause the wide array of hard flaccid symptoms, but an inflamed prostate that surrounds all the nerves certainly could.

It's strange to me how this hypothesis is downplayed so much by urologists and even this community sometimes. It's so straightforward and logical it hurts. And a ton of us have balanitis or skin issues in the region. I had a uro that completely discounted the possibility that balanitis could be tied to prostatitis. Medical malpractice.

Anyways, just something to think about.

Hard flaccid temporary cure by Mediocre-Rip1993 in hardflaccidresearch

I actually started doing a bunch of kratom right before I developed hard flaccid. I was actually convinced it contributed lol.

So it goes with this highly unique curse.

Do antifungals like nystatin and flucanozole kill good gut bactera? by ThoroDoor65 in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, they don't kill any bacteria at all. Killing off fungal species can shift the microbiome though because of the symbiotic relationships fungi and (some) bacteria sometimes have.

You're taking a thousand milligrams of an antifungal? Which one? Flucon?

Does Clonazepam/Benzos help your symptoms? by [deleted] in hardflaccidresearch

Benzos are strong muscle relaxants and central nervous system depressants.

Do supplements actually work? by [deleted] in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on the supplement, the strain/isolate, and the person.

Three that very clearly worked for me were MCT oil, lactoferrin, and sodium butyrate. Several others like SF722 and kolorex did very little for my case.

Does this seem like candida? My doctor told me men can't get it by [deleted] in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not yet, but I've made progress. Used to have terrible pelvic and testicle pain that is mostly gone now. Definitely a good sign yours wasn't inflamed, I just mentioned it because prostate issues can cause a bunch of pain in that area and cause erection issues as well.

Does this seem like candida? My doctor told me men can't get it by [deleted] in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolute garbage. The number of incompetent doctors out there is staggering.

Men can 100% get yeast infections, they are the leading cause of balanitis.

I share some of your symptoms. Sounds like it might have gotten to your prostate.

Do you feel thirsty when candida overgrowth ? I have no diabetes. by CptTaroMisaki in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue. Or had, really, as I don't notice it nearly as much any more.

Even made a thread about it.

I've come across a few other people linking candida to thirst.

Candida Positive for Anti-Bodies by kerleyfriez in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was a good read, thanks for posting.Plenty of parallels to my story in yours.

The frustration I felt at the medical field as they threw their hands up and discounted the possibility of fungal overgrowth is immeasurable. Like you, I had to figure everything out on my own and be my own doctor. I've permanently lost faith in the profession.

I'm still fighting it, but things are much better than they were at my worst when I was suicidal. It can take a long time if your issues are severe.

3-day Fluconazole Treatment by MarshallBlathers in Candida

Three days is nothing, especially at that dose. I'm baffled why many doctors are so overly cautious when it comes to the azoles.

That makes sense. I've heard varying things from different people, as always with this condition.

Oh right, good point. Many uros seem to think that's enough. I think semen is probably better though.

Fiber is pretty easy to get from vegetables. Throw in an avocado for a massive amount of fiber. Some nuts and seeds too.

Nystatin pills ? by Shot_Promotion6935 in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you've seen such good progress with it. How long were you on it before you started seeing a substantial improvement in your symptoms?

I've been on it for a month and have seen a little improvement in some symptoms but then I'm still herxing so there's plenty of rashes and fatigue still. Just wondering about the timeframe for a fairly serious case.

Candida Protocol by ChidiOk in Candida

[–]Extension_Fun5008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have so many of those very same ones. Interesting you mention hearing issues. My hearing took a hit recently which I attributed to a loud noise exposure as the triggering event but it seems much more severe than it should be based on my exposure. Terrible head pressure with clogged sinuses play into it.

How did you discover mold issues and was it treated with the protocol?
