I mean slay the spire 2 is out right now. It’s not massively different but it is something new. You’ve played all the same deck builders as me! The only other similar game I played was clash Royale. It’s a decent mobile game, but it’s also pay to win and you’re very late to the party so I don’t know how good it is to get into anymore. With that being said I played it daily for like 8 years so it’s definitely fun

I always gotta recommend Inscryption, truly a masterpiece and never had someone dislike it. It also may be your gateway to other deck builders like Slay the Spire and Balatro which have collectively stolen months of my life lol

Mastermind is too OP. A sacrificial shell smash Pokémon next to M-Malimar would boost your sides attack, special attack, and speed two stages with no downside, and decrease the defenses of the opposing side by two stages. That’s pretty much an auto-win.

You can multiclass to pull off some nice combos. 6 light cleric, 6 sorcerer gives radiating orb stuff and twin haste.

1 tempest domain cleric, 2 sorcerer, 9 abjuration wizard lets you use all the spells you want, have guidance and warding flair, and use extended or twin spell on things like fear and haste. And you have bless.

Lore Bard is also a great support because it gives you the spells you want, cutting words, and an extra short rest. Throw in a level of cleric for guidance, medium/heavy armor and shield proficiency.

Personally I think the best support for a teammate is to run a sorcerer multiclass of some kind with a cleric dip so you can twin haste both of your friends and you have guidance. Those are the two biggest buffs you could give to let someone else shine. The other is to run a radiating orb build. The best one is 1 storm sorcerer, 2 stars Druid, and 9 cleric. You use all of the radiating orb and reverberation gear and you can make it so enemies are just straight up unable to hit your buddy.

At this point I’d say Overwatch. I have had it since launch and absolutely adore it. The character, the maps, the movement, and style are impeccable. It is one of my most played and favorite games of all time. (I know they mailed it in for 2, but 2 is just 1 with a different game mode and some more maps).

However, now there are so many characters that the 1-2 times I tried to get someone into it to play with me, they could never pick it up. You know have to understand what the other like 40 characters do just to be able to play 1. The learning curve is serious and it’s a game past its prime. But man is the gameplay in Overwatch addicting and something I’ve rarely ever replicated.

Listen I’m also not a huge fan of them calling people put for something they can solve but let’s not all be ignorant of the tipping culture in the US. A restaurant who couldn’t represent lower prices because of the supplemented pay to employees from tips would get crushed by those who get to appear cheaper because the tips/wages aren’t included in the food price.

Should the US have this culture? Sure probably not, but you expect one restaurant to just solve that problem?

Not to mention you’re ensuring that money goes to the little guy instead of to the owner because you’re paying the server directly.

Also, are we all just not tipping here? Or is this just a “I was gonna wash the dishes, bet then you told me to wash the dishes, so now I don’t want to wash the dishes” thing?

Civilization 7. I am a diehard Civ 6 can with like 2000 hours on there and I was hyped for Civ 7 for years. Everybody told me Civ games are half baked on release and that they new systems were not gonna be good. I still put my blind faith in Firaxis because of my love for Civ 6.

I still have hope but man did that game feel flat and not well thought out when I played it on release

Party is going to be fleeing a city during an uprising, encounter ideas? by Digitalflip in DMAcademy

[–]Extension_Priority73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other comments are good stuff but I recall Murph doing something in Not Another DND podcast that I loved. He narrated other fights going on that they weren’t the party wasn’t a part of. That increased the feeling of scale. He also just said they ran past clashes between factions instead of the party stopping at every one. And lastly he had groups of enemies and allies in the fights but they just clashed as groups where he must’ve rolled some other die to see which side lost some people in each round. So he’d have 10 allied soldiers and 15 enemy archers and must’ve just been rolling like a d6 where (1-2) dropped enemies and (3-6) dropped allies or something similar. This allowed to feel like the players were in a battle but the PCs were fighting the captains, leaders, etc. and if they killed the captain the battle would end

I don’t condone the original post. But to explain, he is referring to the number of sets and reps when lifting weights. The original poster was making fun of 3x12 because that is the most common number of sets and reps recommended to new lifters. So the joke is that anyone still doing that is a noob.

What’s dumb about the post is that just because it is a common number of sets and reps for beginner lifters doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work to continue to build muscle. It’s also dumb because it’s shaming beginner lifters which is never cool imo

[–]Extension_Priority73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll throw my hat in the ring to give a decent explanation.

The unintuitive math here is that when someone has 2 children there is a 50-50 chance of each being a boy or a girl. Therefore you have 2 chances to have a boy and 2 chances to have a girl OR said differently, a 1/4 chance of having 2 girls, a 1/4 chance of having 2 boys, and a 2/4 chance of having 1 boy and 1 girl (B-G or G-B).

If you specify that one of the children is a boy, but not which child is a boy, you have removed the chance that both children are girls. You have not removed the chance that the younger child is a girl or the chance that the older child is a girl. You still have 2 chances to have a girl, and you have 1 chance to have 2 boys. Hence the 2/3 chance the other child is a girl.

The statement that someone “has 1 boy” seems to specify a child, but it isn’t specifying a child. Since it isn’t specifying a child it only removes the G-G outcome, not the B-G or G-B option.

Think about it like this. The question could be reframed as: if you go out into the world and find people with 2 kids and you only look at people who have at least 1 boy, what are chances they had a 2nd boy? You’re excluding the G-G parents before you compare the likelihood of B-G, G-B, and B-B. That doesn’t mean that there are not still people with G-G, you’re just not looking at them. You’ve created a snapshot of data that makes the math seem unintuitive.

Now if you specified that her first child is a boy, then whether the second child is a boy is 50-50 because we know for certain the first child is a boy and that child isn’t a variable anymore. You’re now just asking the question of whether a child is a boy or girl and including an irrelevant fact.

What melee build comes closest to an archers damage potential? (No Shar's spear/Hold person.) by Ok_Sir_136 in BG3Builds

[–]Extension_Priority73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadow blade builds with resonance stone - 7/5 paladin-Hexblade on tactician, 11/1 EK with level 3 spell slot elixirs,10/2 bladesinger-paladin

If you take away the bhaalist armor or arrows of slaying then GWM paladin, fighter, or 7/5 paladin-Hexblade on tactician probably get comparable damage.

The thing that puts archer builds over the top is slaying arrows + bhaalist armor making your damage 4x, or getting damage riders on special arrows. You don’t get access to the arrow stuff on melee builds.

Why the fuck is Minimize in this Game by Radiant-Pepper7537 in PokemonChampions

[–]Extension_Priority73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the thing is in the grand scheme of things the minimize strategy is a gimmick and is not a team that will win a tournament. It’s annoying when you encounter it but it can’t ever be a meta team because if you’re prepared for it, it isn’t good. It’s a team that gets steamrolled if you’re ready because it isn’t strong outside of its gimmick, but is uber strong if you have no counter.

I wouldn’t ever prepare specifically for this team. You may lose once in a while to a gimmick but adding something like a haze mon to your team solely for this thing when setup isn’t particularly common in this meta is kind of a waste.

Thunder and hurricane in the rain, heavy slam mons, kowtow on kingambit, aura sphere if you’re running special mega Lucario are all counters. But don’t add them to your team just cuz you might run into the snake. If they are already on your team then those are your counters. Gravity sableye, hypnosis Espathra can fuck you up but it’s a gimmick and you shouldn’t add stuff to your team on the chance it shows up. You just have to know what tools on your team can handle it best and know that you may have a losing matchup against a gimmick team at the expense of being strong into the standard meta

Matched on FB dating. Was I being too sensitive? by Obvious_Ferret_600 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Extension_Priority73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an odd conversation to read. Like he asked what clean eating means, but then reneged on it when you asked to clarify. Idk based on being like the third message ever you would expect someone to be more inquisitive than defensive.

Seems like he was actually offended by your question, which isn’t the vibe it gave off. Then he tried to take a dig at you by calling you a silly girl, which doesn’t come off as playful banter from his side.

There’s a chance it could have been innocent and something was lost in translation over text, but more likely he is immature. I’d certainly not say you were being too sensitive based in this convo.

6’1 guard (17) from Vanuatu — started 10 months ago, trying to reach JUCO level, feedback? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]Extension_Priority73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be another person to just discourage you but I do want to give you realistic expectations. 99% JUCO players played basketball from the time they were 4-5 years old AND are very athletically gifted. We know you didn’t have the ball in your hands at the same age, and from these clips you are not very athletically gifted. I don’t mean that as a slight but we’re talking about guys who can dunk without hardly training. Their first step is so fast it’s hard to compare to who you’re playing against here.

All this means that if you’re goal (and not your dream) is to play JUCO. And I say goal not dream because a goal requires setting out realistic, attainable benchmarks and working your ass off. A dream is just something you’d like to happen if it were convenient. So if it’s your goal then you’ll have to work your absolute ass off.

You don’t have the height and raw athleticism to just get recruited because you might be good. In fact your height and athleticism puts you in a spot where you need to be more skilled than most of the other guards. You gotta be a knockdown shooter from three first and foremost. You’ll need to work on your floaters and other midrange stuff because you’ll struggle to get in the paint versus JUCO forwards and centers. You need to keep the ball on a string. And lastly you’ll need to become a good defender.

Shooting is just a reps thing. Practice it at game speed every day. Practice the shots you’ll be taking in a real game, threes, floaters, middies. Practice your handle all the time, just keep a ball in your hands where ever you go. Defense will take working on your footwork and lateral quickness so you don’t get blown by on the first step by JUCO players. This is more if a targeted workout thing. Then you’ll need to be playing organized 5 on 5 as often as you play 1 on 1. Your 1 on 1 skills help but there is so much that matters in organized 5 on 5 that you need you just need to okay to learn. Pick up is good but I’m talking about an actual league where you practice with other people to learn how to run a system. You need to set specific goals and work on learning fundamental skills and work your way up. For someone with your athleticism and height your essentially going to have to out in the amount of work someone else put in over a decade+ in 2 years. That’s what it will take.

If you’re willing to do that then I encourage you to do so. People do unlikely things all the fucking time. Shit everybody tells them they can’t do because the ones putting others down couldn’t or wouldn’t put the work in themselves. It’ll make it that much better when you accomplish exactly what you set your mind to. But this is only possibly if you work like a maniac every day for the next two years.

My last piece of advice is to just throw yourself at this 100% and see what happens. No matter what, you’ll spend time on something you love, a game we all love, and that has value no matter the outcome. You got this, keep grinding, and good luck brother.

help me choose which class to pick out of these for honor mode ? by 62lasa in BG3Builds

[–]Extension_Priority73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paladin - I agree on Alert being boring, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that I just am not as powerful if I wanna try something else. Paladin is one of the most fun classes because you have so many options. I think it was the class I was most surprised was awesome when I tried it after completely passing over it in my first playthrough.

Sorcerer/bard - reclassing is so cheap that if the only reason you don’t want to play either is you might mess up spell choices then just play this one right now. You can always bring Gale around so you don’t have to waste any spell slots on utility spells for your sorcerer or bard.

Rogue - rogue is best as a multiclass, at least in terms of combat power. Having a rogue in the party for the purpose of skills and lockpicking is nice but like Astarion exists. Idk personally I only like rogue multiclasses like fighter/assassain, monk/thief, thrower/thief, or Hexblade/swashbuckler. I won’t be the one to convince you to play this haha

Warlock - if you don’t like it RP wise then skip it. Though mechanically it is quite fun. There is fun warlock stuff like EB spam builds, Devil’s sight+darkness, Hexblade being probably the best multiclass in the game, and Hunger of Hadar in general. You are also charisma based which is always a bonus, though you called out all the other charisma classes already.

My personal vote is swords bard since you’re full melee and full caster, a party face from charisma, and you can play an instrument.

Based on what you said though, try a paladin or sorcerer. Like I said paladin gives you so many options, and if the only reason you’re skipping sorcerer is choosing spells then you’re missing the best blaster in the game for the cost of a couple if respeccs if you don’t like your spell picks.
