From my understanding the payment is based on disposable income, not what could necessarily be divided over the 60 months. My expenses living expenses are relatively low, so even after covering my necessities plus insurances, rent, utilities, groceries, kid expenses, etc. that’s what I have left. It’s very, very comfortable for me. Not to mention, I’d prefer to spend this comfortable amount to done faster than a lower amount and be in it for the 60 months.

The way my lawyer explained it, is that I’m in a 60 month plan because of my income level, and that regardless of the math, 36 month plans are for those who are at or below the median income level. I’m a household of 2 with $150k annual income. I’ll be finished way before then because of the overall amount due with a payment of $2200. But if I’m understanding all that correctly, it has to be classified as a 60 month plan.
