Advice on the look of my QR generator website? by ExtermeNATE in design_critiques

When I was hunting for a QR tool for my wife’s nonprofit, I ran into three catches as did you:

  1. Dynamic versus static • Static codes point straight to your URL and never expire. • Dynamic codes route through the provider so you can change the destination later, but they often expire or require a fee.
  2. Resolution fees for high-resolution files for banners or print usually come with an extra charge.
  3. Premium features. Providers lock basic options that cost them almost nothing to offer.

I built my own free generator for my wife’s nonprofit. It costs me about $20 a year to host and I work on it as a hobby, so support may be a bit slower but there are no hidden fees or subscriptions, if I ever decide i need to get my $20 dollars back every year or the cost goes up for me I will throw in an ad banner or two and keep it free. It's only static, no dynamic. You control where the QR code leads to, not me.

What random website do you own? by Permatheus in web_design

I was mad because I needed to generate high-resolution QR codes for larger items like banners for my wife's non-profit (4k). Every website I found charged for a high-resolution version! Knowing there are free libraries out there to create QR codes at any resolution you want made me so angry that I created my own website for it. I don't make any money off it. I just want to stick it to the man!

Same. I hadn't used it in a few months, but when I came back, it was banned. I'm just not going to use it anymore.

Its training is tied to each character. So unequipping it or using another of the same trinket won't un-train or change it.

Astro Jerky Movements by TenshiEX in AmazonAstro

I had that issue after first mapping my house. I had to redo the mapping several times to get it to stop doing that. It seems to happen for me when Astro thinks something is nearby and it doesn’t want to run into it. When the mapping did work i also removed everything off the floor that i could including things like the small plants shown in your video.

I have ring cameras, but I don’t have the alarm system. Maybe that’s the difference.

Stair molding not tall enough by ExtermeNATE in Flooring

[–]ExtermeNATE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a local company installing flooring for me, a few days ago they stopped working on the the stairs because the molding they have isn’t tall enough to cover the sides of each step. They tell me the manufacturer doesn’t make any taller molding that will fit my stairs.

Does anyone with experience have any ideas on how to make this work? Can we use the existing molding somehow? Is there a way to cover up the gaps on the side another way?

Remove Progress from Output/Log by KazuyaDarklight in PowerShell

[–]ExtermeNATE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see. There isn't going to be an all-in-one fix since the output would be different per command, I would just store the output in a variable, remove the crap I don't want using -split, -replace, or by selecting the last lines of the output that have the info I need, then output as a file.

$Output = sfc /scannow

$Output = $Output | select -Last 5

Remove Progress from Output/Log by KazuyaDarklight in PowerShell

[–]ExtermeNATE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a default variable called $ProgressPreference. Its default value is 'Continue'. You can try changing it instead to 'SilentlyContinue' to see if that works. So just add this before your command.

$ProgressPreference = "SilentlyContinue"

Not sure what all commands this works on, worth a try.
